FREE MESHUGGAH IS EVEN BETTER THAN $5 MESHUGGAH!

zero dollar billThe other day Reign in Blonde reported that Meshuggah’s ObZen (among other albums) was available for only $5 as part of Amazon’s 100 Albums for $5 promotion, but today we can do you one better; The LimeWire Store has an entirely free download of the song “Combustion” from Meshuggah’s new live album Alive, which came out yesterday. Take that, blonde lasses!

I know what you’re thinking; isn’t LimeWire a P2P service that’s illegal free anyway? I thought so too, but I guess they’ve moved onto bigger and better things as implied by the word “Store” in LimeWire Store.

As part of their promotion with Meshuggah, LimeWire also has an exclusive interview with guitarist Marten Hagström. That’s two goodies for the price of none.

I used to be a computer tech at Circuit City before that place exploded, and I’d say about 80% of all computers that came in with some problem that wasn’t hardware related had Limewire. Maybe it’s just coincidence, but I can safely say that since I stopped using Limewire I haven’t had a virus in 6 years. And I don’t exactly have some sort of super advanced virus protection either.

Point being, even if every file on Limewire was legit, all the ads and bullshit it causes to run in the background of your PC has made it so that I will never trust the program or the people that made it, regardless of what services they offer.

if you were ever dumb enough to use limewire you deserve to get a virus

Precisely my point. It was always fun explaining to people when they brought in their computers that they should remove Limewire, otherwise the $120 Circuit City just robbed from them for simple virus removal would have just been wasted money, cause it’s going to happen again. They never believed me until they had to bring their computer in again.

Yeah, I’d also like to keep up the illusion that I obtain digital music through legal channels.

      haha. likewise

Limewire is still a free P2P program, but they also have a store where you can pay for things if you like.
Which may as well be the definition of retarded.
