GREAT BAND PENS TRACK FOR TERRIBLE VIDEO GAME

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 at 1:30pm by

Did anyone besides me even try to play the Iron Man movie tie-in video game in 2008? I got it from Game Fly and I think I returned it in record time – like, I may have stuck it back in the mail later the same day I received it. It sucked that bad, and was piece of evidence number one gazillion that 99% of the time, movie tie-in games are terrible.

If I’m not mistaken, the upcoming Iron Man 2 video game has different developers, so maybe it’ll be superior to its predecessor – it certainly couldn’t be inferior. But whether the game ends up sucking or not, at least we’re gonna get a new Lamb of God song out of the deal.

From Marvel’s official website:

Get ready to rock, Marvel fans, because two-time Grammy-nominated heavy metal superstars Lamb of God are creating an exclusive song for the upcoming blockbuster title, “Iron Man 2: The Video Game.” The all-new song serves as the perfect complement to the non-stop super-powered action of the game on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PlayStationPortable and Wii video game systems. “Iron Man 2: The Video Game” will be in- stores across North America on May 4, 2010.

The post on Marvel’s website doesn’t mention the name of the song, but The PRP says it’s called “Hit the Wall.”

So while I don’t have a lot of faith that the Iron Man 2 game is going to be worth your time, I do have faith in Lamb of God. Hopefully the band will make the song available in some kind of official format after the game’s release.

Seems like a new thing everyone’s trying out… first the God Of War soundtrack (Opeth, KSE, DT, etc), and now this…. At least we get new music out of it though…

    Ew.

A song for the movie itself would have been cooler, but whatever.

  • Kuranes

I’m still waiting to hear what great band is writing a song for this soundtrack. The only band mentioned here is Lamb of God.

    • Ryd1ZZ

I see what you did there.

    • Jewers

Someone get this guy a comedy deal. My head is blown from the hilarity and creativity of that material.

put this guy on tour, I’d buy a ticket cuz I too am waiting for the “great” band announcement.

I’d agree with you, but I thought he really stepped up his vocals on Wrath.

        • Jewers

I think Randy’s vocals are very different and that’s what turns people off, you either love them or hate them. I personally think he’s one of the best screamers out there

ATPB is still one of my favourite albums, and it was mostly due to his vocal change from NAG. His voice isn’t as brutal any more, but they still get my respect.

      • Kuranes

Thank you, I’ll be here all week. Try the meatloaf.

  • bobovdeath

wow.they got santa claus in their band now?

or wait is that ernest hemingway?

    • Jesse

Haha. John Campbell IS lookin a little jolly these days.

      • joshkid

        when is he not jolly?
        LOG FUCKIN RULES. PERIOD.

Hey Axl. I actually got to preview the gameplay of the new version. It’s pretty fricking amazing. NOTHING like the last version. You’ll be surprised. The trailers are going to start rolling out shortly and just from them you’ll be able to see how much better it is.

As for the song, well, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves.

lastly, great band, end of story.

Correction: TERRIBLE BAND PENS TRACK FOR TERRIBLE VIDEO GAME

    • Clancy

Seriously? terrible? There are SSSOOO many far far worse bands than LOG. Even bands that are constantly praised on this site. I am curious, what makes them so terrible. They have a great drummer who is a very cool guy, two very good, creative guitar players whos styles are complimentary to each other, a solid bass player, and a charismatic frontman. I realise Randy’s vocal style is an acquired taste, It took me a while to appreciate it, but they are not terrible.

Maybe they are too successful to be safe from the usual band of haters.

  • Failure

if lamb of god suck so bad why don’t you bitches put out something better, i’d love to hear any of you do better.

    • soy el niño más bonito

dumbest retort ever. i hate when people do this. it’s ok to not like something and not be able to produce anything better. not all of us are musically inclined.

  • Geekbeater

Does anyone know if we can gain access to the KSE and Trivum tracks that were made for the God of War game? I really want to hear them

Roadrunner Records are gonna release an ep along side the game or if ya buy the ultimate edition you get a voucher code to download the tracks.

  • Skeletonwitchcraft

cool, look forward to hearing it but wont try that game. games based from moives usually arent worth the time. same as movies based on games.

    PS3 > 360

  • UH

    Uh, no

  • Hengst

For the record, this game is being made by the exact same developer who made the horrible first version, but they claim in interviews to have learned their lessons.

  • ThisIsNecessary

Would you assholes please shut the fuck up about this overrated band.

How are the gods of metal, the godliest gods of metal …overrated?
