NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2010 LINEUP

The long-running New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, MA has announced its 2010 lineup. If you live in or near New England it’s pretty hard to imagine skipping this event, which combines many of this Spring’s touring packages (including the bonerific Mastodon, BTBAM and Baroness run) into one giant event. According to the official NEMHF website:
Bands performing on Friday April 23 include Mastodon, Between The Buried And Me, Baroness, Cro Mags, Earth Crisis, Death Threat, Death Before Dishonor, COA, American Me, Thick As Blood, Forfeit, XTheWarX, Grave Maker, Rose Funeral, Conducting From The Grave and Howl. Doors open at 3:00PM
Bands performing on Saturday April 24 include Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Job For A Cowboy, Whitechapel
Skeletonwitch, Eluveite, 1349, Impending Doom, Lecherous, Nocturne, Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, Chelsea Grin, Abacabb, Arsonists Get All The Girls, Malefice, Swashbuckle, Cattle Decapitation, Acaro, Holy Grail, Disembodied, Cruel Hand, Reign Supreme, The Mongoloids, XTyrantX, Foundation, Soul Control, Alpha & Omega, Burning Empires, Mother Of Mercy, Gaza, Across The Sun and Monsters. Doors open at noon.Tickets for Friday only cost $40.00. Tickets for Saturday only cost $46.00. A 2-day ticket costs $80.00. I didn’t even put that together with the Mastodon, BTBAM, and Baroness tour being in Worcester on that date. That’s the show I was going to try to make, but now I am definitely going to make it!
Gonna have to shell out some extra cash to make this a weekend trip now.

Yeah agreed. This NEMF lineup is extremely lame — I’ve seen all the bands on the mastodon tour in the past 3 months, don’t know if I want to pay $40 to see them again in a room full of douchebags.

I agree with the overall lineup on Saturday, but the 3 headliners for Friday are better IMO.
Not really worth the price to trek to MA. I’m going to Jersey for the Mastodon show anyway but the only band I’m really interested in seeing that isn’t on the Mastodon tour is Rose Funeral. I wouldn’t mind if a few of those headlining bands from Saturday’s show made their way around the Northeast and hit the City.

I gotta say… I wouldn’t pay to see any one of those bands live, except for Mastodon/BTBAM/Baroness anyway. There are a few I haven’t heard and a few I don’t remember, but everything else is just meh.
Meh. I heard they were trying to get Cavalera Conspiracy, which would have been awesome. Not really interested in spending the money on this one.

Um, I care? I’m sure plenty of others who would rather see Sepultura songs performed by Max and Iggor instead of the shitty Sepultura they have now would also pay to see it.
I’d rather see that too. But I’d never go see the “new” Sepultura. That tour stiffed hard. The album stiffed hard.

Oh wow! I got credit for a tip!! Sick… and I woke up to a snow day too!!! But ya Day 1 is great because I wanted to see that tour really bad and have never been able to see Mastodon. Day 2 I have seen most bands with a few little surprises in there but to see them all again and on a smaller stage, with a possibility of meeting them outback, deff worth 80 bucks for me
i’ve been to this show 8 years running and I’m not going to miss this one. Always the highlight of my year. Two full days, two stages means there’salmost always someone playing that I want to see. Every year I discover at least one new band that kicks ass. The city of worcester does suck balls though.

BTBAM, Mastodon, Baroness tour is a huge one, There’s defenitely going to be a handful of good bands here. Underlying Truth is an awesome local band, check them out. My band has played with Acaro a couple times too and those guys are awesome dudes, NEMF is a good opportunity to see a lot of bands that you don’t know about.

There’s 2 or 3 I haven’t heard of. That’s it.
And you know there’s two stages, right? One might assume the hardcore stuff would predominately on the second smaller stages.

Hells ya, Disembodied! I saw their first reunion show thinking it was just a one-off thing here in Minneapolis, but now they’re playing all over the states and getting festival gigs…Disembodied ftw!!

My guess is that this is just the initial line up. Usually, the festival is a lot larger. There are some other tours floating around the area around that time, plus some Mass bands that you don’t see on there. I expect more bands to be announced.
Maybe a small handful, but I’d say it’s pretty much done.
i hope this means cannibal and amon are touring together!!! so i wont have to spend that ridiculous money for just a couple of bands.
Unfortunately, not even Mastodon, Amon Amarth, or the criminally-overlooked Disembodied is enough for me to make the trek to the NEMF this year. :(
FUCK YEA, they finally announced it….however, much like last year, there’s just a hand full of bands I’m interested in. I gotta consider going….though I think my vacation my just fall on it. I really wish there was a Sunday show.
