No no, Veil of Maya’s name comes from the George William Russell poem of the same name. Coincidentally, the band Cynic also used the poem’s name as a song on their LP, “Focus.”

I think this song is awesome. Sumerian didn’t have anything to do with the bands writing and for the record Born of Osiris’s new cd is an amazing progression. I didn’t like it at first because it is very different but its all the same elements of BOO just at a much more developed level.

Don’t say this song sucks until you hear it played live because it sounds brutal. Everyone was going crazy. I don’t see how this song is much different from there old stuff either. its full of technical breakdowns with a sort of “We Bow In It’s Aura” type melody over it. It’s just one song from the cd. I don’t how you can just think since this one song is bad that the whole cd is going to be.

the section at 2:10 is sickk. but the lask of shredage and artificial harmonics and crazy chords makes it seem less and less like VOM but im sure the rest of the album will be goood.

Word man, I’m in a few bands myself and I hear criticisms all the time, (i.e. Bobby Cauley’s comment on my material LOL). So I know exactly what it’s like. I’m still a huge VoM supporter and plan on getting their album regardless of this one tune. I’m sure there’s going to be some material I’m going to dig.

I’m also a big Born X Osiris fan, too. They’re a big deal in the world of technical metal these days, so it does without say that people are going to compare other sumerian bands with them. Furthermore, It’s hard to stay consistent with your sound without repeating what you’ve already did. I’ll give VoM credit for doing something a little different though.

fuckin awesome in my opinion!! seems like old vom but with a lil bit different style which makes it perfect to my ears. I luv the 1:14 part the most. great job cant wait for the album. If anyone has the lyrics post them up
