SPOILER ALERT: HERE’S THE SET LIST FOR THE MEGADETH RUST IN PEACE ANNIVERSARY TOUR

Monday, February 15th, 2010 at 9:34am by

I understand in this day and age of the interwebs, finding set lists is pretty much the easiest thing in the world; what I don’t understand is why anyone would want to know the set list in advance. Whatever happened to good old fashioned surprise?

That being said, when Dave Mustaine announced the set list for Megadeth’s upcoming Rust in Peace twentieth anniversary tour… well, I looked. So I guess I’m a hypocrite.

The list is after the jump, if you’re not smarter than I am.

  • “Set The World Afire”
  • “Wake Up Dead”
  • “In My Darkest Hour”
  • “Sweating Bullets”
  • “Skin O’ My Teeth”
  • “Head Crusher”
  • “A Tout Le Monde”
  • “Symphony Of Destruction”
  • “Trust”
  • “Peace Sells, But Who’s Buying?”

And, of course, the entirety of Rust in Peace.

Now start arguing about whether or not this is a good set list.

Set the world afire is always a great opener, but Trust? How bout more from the new album too…

No “Crush Em?!” This is bullshit!

      I really hope you’re joking.

      • Josh A

They have to play dawn patrol right? ouch

  • Superhans

“The list is after the jump, if you’re not smarter than I am.”

…. or simply smart enough to save yourself some time by reading this one

  • boob

    worst. setlist. ever.

    na, i really don’t care…

  • I killed a Dunky

who that in the pic Cher? a trasvesti thats a gty pic right there XD

  • Frampler

When I read this announcement on Blabbermouth last night, I thought like you that this was going to be the setlist for the whole tour, and wondered why he would post it in advance, especially as it’s already known that all of Rust in Peace will be played. But then he starts going on about them having 40 or so songs that they can all play, so I wonder whether the setlist he posted is just for the beginning of the tour?

As I live in England, it doesn’t affect me either way – they’ll get 50 mins at most at the Download Festival, so it will probably be a few off Endgame, a few off Rust and the customary Peace Sells, Symphony and In My Darkest Hour.

    No ‘Breadline’? For shame.

  • WowWee!

Good set list but where’s the tour dates?

  • Zoker

I totally don’t give a shit about Megadeth.

  • Mathewsaunders

A tout le monde….really? One of the more boring ones..the rest is what you’d expect, very nice

I don’t understand A Tout Le Monde either. It’s an alright song, but Dave’s convinced it’s his masterpiece.

      • bittercold

it’s the “quick run to the beer line” song of the set…

        • Josh A

Crush em, or dawn patrol, those are my pee and go get lit tracks.

  • Slayerfan731

    Needs more Peace Sells/KIMB.

  • You Don’t Know Me

I understand that it’s the Rust In Peace anniversary tour, but why only one song off of the new album? You would think they would put at least 2 songs in there off of the new one. Either way, it looks like a decent set list. Basically a Megadeth “best of” set list, i.e. the kind of set list you would expect if they played Ozzfest.

  • dave

i wish mutaine would just fuck off and go rust in peace

  • Noobie McNoob

Wow, Dave looks 13 in that picture!

  • izzo

i hope they play tornado of souls

  • Biff_Tannen

Looks damn good. I could do without a tort lemonade or whatever the fuck it is, trust, and in my darkest hour (shoot me, I think it a criminally over rated song). Would have like to see a few more from Endgame instead of the above mentioned three songs.

  • ITTOA666

Anyone who complains about the list is a jackass, because it says rust in peace at the bottom. Do you need them to play anything else?

  • http://www.theatomicbombaudition.com Aleezy

That’s actually a pretty amazing setlist. I would sub out a few of those post-Symphony ones for “Ashes in Yr Mouth” and “Hook in Mouth” (and maybe a couple others from “Peace…” that don’t have the word ‘mouth’ in them) but yeah, dude has to be diplomatic and some people DO like those songs.

  • ten thousand mexicans on a spaceship

In the press release, he said there’s a chance they can rotate in lesser known songs from Killing or Peace Sells

Can you say Black Friday and Looking Down The Cross?

    I fucking wish. :(

    • Josh A

Yeah, that would be sweet. But I’m guessing those haven’t been played in a decade.

Only one track off of the new record? I guess it’s in order to satisfy the purists but come on, The Day We Fight would be so rad!

  • Bob

    they should cover “enter sandman”

  • Hot Donut

“Peace Sells, But Who’s Buying?” is the name of the album. The song is just called “Peace Sells”.

  • Rachel

They dont have The Four Horsemen on the setlist? Oh wait, I got that one and Kill the King confused again…

    • Brian Koz

What? Four Hoursemen and Mechanix are the two same songs. Wtf does that have to do with KtK?

      my brain hurts…

  • Delorie

Overall, I’m more of a Rust in Peace fan than a Megadeth fan (is that allowed? whatever). So yeah…I could do without every non-RIP song. Forever.

Rust in Peace was all I really needed. :)

  • men

impossible i saw a show when they start with holy wars and finish with symphony of destruction
