STEVE “ZETRO” SOUZA AND EXODUS REUNITE FOR ONE LAST “TOXIC WALTZ”

I’m a Paul Baloff guy myself, but Steve “Zetro” Souza is still a legend – with all due respect to Rob Dukes, Souza is really the only guy besides Paul Baloff who could ever be thought of as the singer Exodus. I don’t know much about the circumstances surrounding his departure from the band (either time), but I guess it was amicable, ’cause he jumped on stage to do “Toxic Waltz” with the band last week in San Francisco. Check it out:

Souza’s last album with the band was 2004′s Tempo of the Damned. I’m sure this will start rumors that he’s about to come back again (again), but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

    Rob Dukes is an ASSHOLE! I haven’t been treated so shitty while meating a member of one of my favorite bands since Phil Anselmo almost took off my shoulder with a right hook. But at least Phil was so hopped up on heroin and whiskey he didn’t know what the fuck he was doing. Dukes just stared me down and flipped me off when I asked him about the band on his shirt. This, I might add, was after telling him that Exodus was my favorite thrash band ever.

    That being said, Tempo of the Damned is the last Exodus album I bought (partially because of the aformentioned incident) and for my money Zetro was the best. Baloff was an undeniably awesome guy but Steve’s vocals just have something Paul’s lacked.

    Wow, sorry but i guess im the only guy who thinks Dukes smokes Zetro. I got it He replaced Paul Baloff (R.I.P) But I think dukes has way more Venom in his voice than Souza. All respect to dave but guess what ? thats what happens when you put your Heroes on a pedestal. Some people are assholes. Not tryin to Defend Dukes’s apparent assholishness but some people are like that.

    As for Phil givin you a hook to the shoulder? Why didnt you slip it and Jab him right in the fucking nose?

        I like Dukes. He seemed like a pretty cool guy when I met him. Plus, he seemed more than happy to talk with me about his Buckethead shirt.

    The circumstances of Zetro’s departure was mostly because he and Gary Holt hated each other(on a music level) and he is never coming back again simply because they can’t work together, they’re still friends though on a personal level.
    I like Rob Dukes’ voice but I always thought Zetro was way cooler(and way more friendly, I remember meeting him once). Also, Rob Dukes occasionally acts like a jerk, saw them with Overkill a year ago and he was complaining endlessly about the crowd, pretty annoying…

    Baloff is overrated. Zetro is THE Exodus vocalist. His work on Tempo Of The Damned is excellent. Full of attitude and venom.

    I THINK DUKES IS DOING A PRETTY GOD JOB.. BUT NO ONE IS GONNA BE AS GOOD AS SOUZA!! HE IS THE BEST, JUST LISTEN TO WAR IS MY SHEPPARD FROM TEMPO OF THE DAMNED AND YOU WILL NOTICE THAT SOUZA´S VOICE IS SO AMAZING THAT HE CAN CHANGE FROM A HARSH THRASHING SOUND TO AN ALMOST DEATH METAL GROWLING LIKE NO OTHER…. SOUZA WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST, EVEN WAY BETTER THAN BALOFF.

    I agree with steverazor baloff is to old and exodus’s hit where with zetro it’s black/death metal zetro is more thrashy

    Guess you missed the part where Zet hugged Dukes at the beginning and waved over to Gary, with Gary smiling in return
