METAL INJECTION PREMIERE NEW SOLUTION .45 TRACK

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 at 4:30pm by

Melodeath fans! Have you heard about Solution .45, the new kinda-sorta supergroup featuring Christian Alvestam (ex-Death Jovi Scar Symmetry) on vocals and Miseration’s Jani Stefanovic on guitars? Clearly this band is gonna get a lot of attention – as if their all-star line-up wasn’t enough, Dark Tranquillity’s Mikael Stanne wrote all the lyrics for the group’s debut album, For Aeons Past.

Our bestest buds over at Metal Injection have an exclusive download of a new song by the band, entitled “Gravitational_Lensing.” If you like bands like Scar Symmetry and DT, it’s really, really hard for me to believe you won’t dig this.

Download the song here, then let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Sounds just like Scar Symmetry. Not complaining though.

Good song. Nowhere near as good as Scar Symmetry though, much more generic.

I love this. It’s what I wanted the last SC to sound like.

  • Discipleofthewatch

I love Scar Symmetry, and I have to listen to Holographic Universe pretty much every single morning or else I’m not in a good mood. It’s like coffee or something.

Well, I also liked this song, and will be buying the Solution 45 album when I can get my hot little hands on it.

  • MSalonen

Scar Symmetry just isn’t as good without him. Their last album was really bland for me, in comparison to their other work.

  • Fufkin

Don’t hear any similarities to DT. He’s a very good singer on a technical level, but just like SS the ultra brutal/ultra pop dynamic sounds silly to me, somewhat gimmicky – the extremes are too much either way. Disarmonia Mundi just about pull it off, though their new one seems to blur into one song despite Speed’s fleeting presence. Soilwork’s Natural Born Chaos is still the daddy.

Actually Christian has been doing the growl/clean thing before Soilwork was even a band.

      • Fufkin

Doesn’t mean he’s better at it, champ. I meant daddy in the superlative sense.

This rules. Artwork rules. Album will rule.

I’m just loading the song now, but a title like Gravitational Lensing would fit in perfectly on a Scar Symmetry album.

And so would the song. Definitely getting a copy of this.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve been waiting to hear a new song from these fellas. Scar Symmetry is one of my favorite bands, but their last release was severely lacking without Christian. This is more like it.

I have to disagree with you on Christian being the thing that lacked DMD, I think it was the hasty job they did…Dark Matter Dimensions was made one year after the amazing Holographic Universe, therefore not much thought and time went through the songwriting!

On the whole I prefer DMD to HGU (with the notable exception of the title track which is easily the best thing they’ve ever done). I prefer Christian as a vocalist but I just think on the whole DMD has better songs.

Based on this song and the demo version of “Clandestinity Now”, I believe “For Aeons Past” has the potential to be just as good as, if not better than, “Holographic Universe”. Needless to say, I have very high hopes.

Death Jovi 2.0, now with worse solo sections.

  • ITTOA666

Even though this doesn’t involve per from SC, this is still amazing. Alvestam just keeps writing hooks and general goodness.

  • Awful Georges

The clean voice is so awful. Scar Symmetry would be a good band if they wouldn’t have that fuckin’ pop clean voice.

As a matter of fact, that kind of clean voice destroys a metal band for me.

  • Mario

Christian is without a doubt the only stand-out part of this group. That first guitar solo was so wack! Sounds like something I would’ve done on my old Tascam 4-track recorder when I was 14. Oh well, Christian still dominates the realm of metal vocal versatility!

  • Brutal Bee

I don’t know about you guys, but this is a great song. Clandestinity Now has been repeating in my head for quite some time by its own, and nnow this song joins it. This band is going to be great, can’t wait for the album.
