HAVE YOU VOTED IN SCION’S NO LABEL NEEDED CONTEST YET?

The Scion No Label Needed Contest & Series is still underway! In case for some reason you haven’t been paying attention, this is an incredible opportunity for one luck unsigned band to win just about anything and everything an unsigned band could ever possibly want. You can go here to listen to and vote for the finalists; and even if you’ve voted once already, you can vote again, ’cause you’re allowed to vote once a day!

Meanwhile, our pals over at Metal Insider – who are helping to run this contest – are running interviews with the various finalists every day, plus some great editorials related the contest and the industry, such as this defense of the record label system. It takes realy cojones to defend the record label system in 2010, but cojones is what author Bram Teitelman has got.

    I voted Hemotysis. Pretty sick band, and definitely beats the others. Too many deathcore bands on that list in my opinion.

      Agree completely, voted Hemoptysis. Orwell and Iron Thrones weren’t *bad* tho. Scorched Earth Policy would have been ok if the vocals weren’t so shitty. And what the fuck is ‘Iris Divine’ doing on there? They suck so fucking much and aren’t even metal, more like pop-rock.

    I would encourage anyone interested in originality and am sick of the deathcore trend to vote for Lorus!!
    Go to their myspace and listen to all the music they’ve posted. Much more interesting than anything else on offer in this contest. And just to clarify, the contest is how I found out about them so I’m no local fanboy or relative.

    Agreed with Nick….except my vote went with Iris Divine. Lorus would have come in second though. The other bands….yeah, deathcore but what about all the fucking At the Gates copycats….when is that genre gonna die???
