WOE OF TYRANTS ARE “CREATURES OF THE MIRE”

Everyone in the goddman motherfucking world e-mailed me about this yesterday so I’m sure you know, but just in case: perennial MetalSucks faves Woe of Tyrants have released a crushing new song, “Creatures of the Mire,” which you can listen to here. It features all manner of awesomeness.

“Creatures of the Mire”comes off of Woe of Tyrants’ third album overall/second for Metal Blade, Threnody, which on April 13. And even though metal bands need to stop using the word “threnody,” I’m still fairly certain that this record is going to rule.

    listening right now… sounds like Kingdom of Might on steriods!

    Beefier, more robust, and has much more momentum.

    Looking forward to new album.

    Nothing really out of the ordinary. The solos sound a bit Dragonforce-y for my liking.

    Also, their new logo is really lazy. It’s the Abaddon typeface (BFMV also use this) with added deathcore jaggedness.

    WOT RULE. Very underrated as far as Im concerned. AWESOME song writting/solos.

    They should be headlining. I hope this album gives them the chance.

    Come hang with me at Oades Hidden Camel in Lansing, MI this Friday. Worst sound of any venue in Lansing. In the hood, right next to the local biker club (which stop sign on the door reads “if you don’t know your welcome here, your not”).

    Of any band to have used the word threnody, WoT are the ones who used it best. Read up on the concept of the album and understand why.

    This band is one to watch. They’re one of the few forward-thinking groups that could positively shape the metal world.

    Stumbled across these guys way back when they released Behold the Lion on Tribunal Records. Massive fan ever since. And if they keep releasing new material every 12-15 months and keep on touring, they will end up one of the more high profile Metal Blade bands.

    HATE the album cover though.
