JAMES LEE IS OUT OF ORIGIN

Hm.

So vocalist James Lee has parted ways with Origin after nearly a decade in the band. No reason has been given as of yet. He’s been replaced by Mica ‘Maniac’ Meneke (photo above), who has played with The Faceless and a bunch of other bands – so I’m assuming he knows what’s what.

And that’s why, as much as I’ve enjoyed Lee’s past vocal performances, I’m not too worried about this. Is Paul Ryan still in the band? He is? Yeah, I think we’re good to go, here. Origin is gonna be just fine.

    Hopefully going to see them on Thrash and Burn Europe. The only question is gonna be if he’s got the stamina, because i just checked out a couple of other bands that he’s been in, and he’s a pretty decent, if generic death metal vocalist.

    No worries, Origin will be just fine.
    Paul has already begun writing, if not completed the songs for the new album.
    From what I’ve heard Paul say, James had some bad habits and it was starting to affect business.
    Paul is a smart guy and knows what is best for his band.

    It totally sucks, but I’m sure the new vocalist will be just as good.

    Given that James was shitfaced when I saw them at last years Summer Slaughter and that he drunkenly told my friend that he and their bass player hate each other, this isn’t that surprising.

    I will miss his drunken flailing during the instrumental parts of the songs.

    He wasn’t a very good vocalist anyway. Usually vocals are the number one drawing factor for a band with me but Origin are one of the few bands where I could care a less about vocals, it’s all about the sweeps and the speed.
