“TATTOOS AND TEQUILA” VIDEO: JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT VINCE NEIL COULDN’T SINK ANY LOWER

When I sat down to watch “Tattoos and Tequila,” the new video for the title track from Vince Neil’s forthcoming solo album, I was expecting something terrible. But I gotta hand it Vince Neil – he always finds creative ways to reach new platitudes of suck. This video is ridiculous, which is fine, but you really, really need to listen to the lyrics to get the full “What the fuck?”ness of it all.

Jeff Blando (from Slaughter) does an okay job with the generic, wah-heavy guitar solo, but really, the only cool thing about this is his awesome drummer, Zoltan Chaney (no, not that douche bag). I’m obligated to tell you that the album will be out in May, but you’ve probably already forgotten what you’re reading about right now.

    This is not bad at all, I kinda like it.
    About a billion times better than the lastest Mötley Crüe which is the worst album I have ever listened to.
    But this new Vince Neil stuff sounds cool to me.

    Message to the ladies : please, stop getting tattoed ! This is just fucking horrible. I don’t mind for a small tattoo on your shoulder or ankle but those big tattoos are just fuckin ridiculous.
    Please stop the madness !
    In France, we haven’t been hit yet so far by this shitty trend and most of our girls still have a nice and clean skin. But when I watch all those Metal vids with these chicks tattoed like fucking comics it’s so sad.
    It really sucks, believe me.

    I have to say, it isn’t bad for what it is. I think that is a good niche for Vince Neil. Simple straightforward rock. Down and dirty. If I were his manager, this is what I would have told him to record, and the video is the sort I would have told him to shoot.

    Hey, at least he isn’t trying to belt out high notes like he is 20. He is singing for his age, something a lot of old metal guys should learn to try.

    What’s really funny about this song is that it’s derivative of what is so popular on the radio right now; and what’s popular on active rock radio is totally derivative of what Motley did in the mid- to late ’80s. He’s copying the bands who first copied his band. Talk about full circle.

    anyway, yeah, i think axl’s being a little harsh on this track. it’s derivative and artistically null, but that goes without saying – more important, it’s harmlessly stupid and mindlessly fun, which is exactly what you need sometimes.

    “Who” nailed it with his take on tattooed ‘ladies’!…couldn’t agree more.its bad enough that guys have taken to getting “tattooed from arsehole to breakfast time” without the ladies following suit…..its not that i dont like tattoos, i luv the fuckers ,I’m sleeved with the stuff but sumtimes ‘less is more’….it seems as though theres a lot of folks treating tattooing as sum sort of competition and fashion (its not fashion its fucking permanent) and have lost (or were never serious about it in the 1st place) the true purpose and meaning of this ancient and intensely personal artform….heres an idea….if your thinking about a career ‘seachange’ for the future train yourself in ‘Tattoo removal’ cause theres gonna be a huge demand for reversal by a lot of dickheads when the whole trend has died and they aren’t so ‘cool’ anymore….It will happen believe me,it always dose which is great for folks like me who got them because we never wanted to fit in the first place !

    Actually Gauche I’m pretty serious about it!…It’s just a personal opinion and dont take it to heart.I know i should be used to it as Ive been around tattoos all my life but i still get turned off when i see a woman covered in them.Particularly when she’s getting up in her years! they do go to shit with age,same as the do with guys..Yes i realise how sexist it sounds and each to his own but i see a lot of really young women (late teens/early 20s) coming into the shop getting really large coverage or the same tired designs that their friends have and it looks bloody tacky!…there are exceptions but they’re the minority and kudos to them.Just remember what you see as a great idea today you may feel is a shitty idea tomorrow and how you feel about sumthing in your 20′s you may feel very differentlly about in your 40′s & 50′s.I suppose what i ‘m trying to say is that you have your whole life to get them and enjoy the process, why blow your wad in one go!?

    You don’t listen to a VN song expecting anything more than high school level lyrics and ideas. This song does just what they wanted to it do… Appeal to the lowest level. Sleeze, sex, booze.

    At least they have a video. Many far better songs these days never get a video.

    I actually like the guitar on this song. Nothing to rave about but catchy. Sure in a year I won’t even remember it but kudos to people still putting out music they seem to enjoy.
