Wait, people like this band? At NEMHF last year, everyone watching them just sat there watching in confusion on how such awful sounds were penetrating our ears. Then after the last song the lead singer said thanks for being a great crowd except for you (this is where he pointed at a fat kid over by the bathrooms). But ya, every band deserves fans I guess.

As was said earlier by multiple people Trap Them have more of a d-beat or crust punk sound to them than a Converge sound. At least their newer stuff is more along those lines. Their first couple EPs and their first full length have a little bit more of the spasticness of Converge. That could be Kurt’s production though. The similarities to me are really only in the amount of energy they both bring live. They are the two best live bands I’ve ever seen.

Both bands I’d say have an Entombed influence but to be Trap Them are way more Entombed, Napalm Death, Disfear while Converge have a lot of other shit going on.

I can see the Converge comparison but not like them because of that is bullshit. Trap Them bring on a really raw intensity I can’t find anywhere else. I’m glad they left Deathwish so they can finally step out of Bannon’s shadow.

They definitely have that spastic-riffing that’s reminiscent of Converge and same type of intensity on stage, but yeah, aside from that I don’t think they are that similar. Trap Them is definitely way more influenced with that whole buzzsaw guitar tone/D-beat style that you hear in like Entombed/Dismember/Disfear.
