Wow! I’m glad you actually replied.

Sorry if I sounded overly harsh! I guess I was just persuaded by the MetalSucks writing style, aka full of sarcasm and angst hahah.

I guess I was expecting the normal blunt, straightforward write-up, but yours is actually of a different breed, which is a breath of fresh air. And your sentiment is very true, especially today: good songwriting does indeed come from mastery of melody, not just chugging/breakdowns!!

Incredible music once again guys! Good thing you described what the song was about short of publishing the lyrics as I had no idea what they were :) Christian/religious themes in music will always get you accusations of being a christian band and I am glad you came on here and stated that the band isn’t, because as an anti-theist/atheist, whenever a band says they are a christian, no matter how fantastic the music, the thought is constantly running through my head “are they preaching at me their ridiculous belief system?”.

Can’t wait to hear the new album!

I personally feel the “clean vibe” was a necessity, and showed us another side of a very talented singer. Interested to hear more from this album, and catching their Overkill Tour.

The last record had a different theme. I wrote most of the lyrics to that one in 2006-2007. I do come from a Christian background but am not a practicing Christian, the lyrics on this new album are much different. As most lyricists do I’m sure, I write based on the mood and season I’m in my life. Give it an honest listen/read and stop that stereotyping.. Then come out to a show and I’ll buy you a beer or fight you about it, whichever you prefer! :)
