Awesome album. Not a fan of bands who use gimmicks, like having an attractive female on vocals. Landmine Marathon doesn’t fall into this category. There’s no question as to Grace’s talent. Anyone who’s ever seen them live can attest to this. She and the rest of LM, are raw, their riffs are fierce and their music is, what seems to be elusive nowadays, good. Looking forward to the March 16th release!

I’m really getting tired of guys who can’t sing screeching their way to recording contracts. There’s a huge difference between metal screaming and this death metal sanding of the vocal cords. If you’ve heard one, you’ve pretty much heard them all. Oh, and the guitar isn’t much better. Advice, dude, don’t solo…

I kinda dig it. Great guitar sound. Terrible drum production. The snare is totally distorted (a la new Metallica). I’ll have to check out a better resolution copy, but mp3 encoding doesn’t add that kind of distortion, so I’m guessing it’s just limited to death like everything else these days. Too bad.

I like the rawness of it and the riffs are simple and heavy. Guitars could be tighter, but it adds to the vibe. Don’t like the occasional guitar solos, but I usually find solos to be a waste of time anyway… just makes it worse when they are mediocre.

I really, really like this band. I think the vocals are totally intense and packed with emotion. The guitar tone is sweet!. The production on this record should be tight! I’ll wait the the actual disc to decide.

I think so, too. From a player’s perspective, these guitar players aren’t good at all. If you can’t solo, please, don’t solo. It’s like Mike McCreedy from Pearl Jam, any solo he’s ever played could really be the solo for ANY one of their songs, it’s not like you HAVE to solo in a song.

Well, I liked it. Good stuff. I enjoy vocals like that, as well as Randy Blythe screaming his head off on Burn the Priest and LOG, and Alexi Laiho, Angela Gossow, and others in that style. Sometimes that just expresses my frustration and anger for me. If I could scream like that, I’d do it myself!
