DANKO JONES ARE “FULL OF REGRET”

Danko Jones are one of those bands where people say to me sometimes, “Hey, Axl, I think you’d really like Danko Jones,” and then I go and listen to the band and I think, “Gee, that person must not know me very well.” They’re not terrible, but there are some wwwwaaaaayyyy better hard rock bands out there right now.

ANYWAY, the band has a new album, Below the Belt, coming out in May, and now they’ve released the first single, “Full of Regret.” You can listen below, and then tell me if I’m right or wrong about these cats.

This band is ok. But why should I spend my time listening to just ok music.

regardless of what you think of his music personally he has reasonablygood taste in music himself.

Never would have expected to see Kreator, Converge, Sacrifice, or Doomriders on his year end list when you listen to his own stuff,

You know, I heard them open for Volbeat, and I didn’t like what I heard all that much. Nope.

You’re wrong, dudes, Danko Jones is absolutely fuckin’ amazing.

A friend of mine turned me on to them a couple weeks ago when he was trying to get his band as an opening act on the Clutch/Danko Jones tour. I liked the songs he played me, but everything else i’ve listened to since has been kinda weak. Regardless i am still interested in seeing them play at the end of the month.

why the fuck would you post about a band you don’t highly recommend? there’s enough garbage bands on this site that you guys rave about. I can only imagine how crummy a band you think is just OK is.

Saw these lads support Motorhead about a year and a half ago. Most hilariously bad support act I’ve ever seen! Ah they were atrocious…

I used to hear Danko all the time, cause he’s Canadian and Canadians love to play Canadian music ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I always thought of him as “that radio rock guy that I don’t totally hate”. I guess that pretty much still stands.
Full agreement on his music’s “meh” status.

Well, they kinda have that Old Nickleback stench. Don’t think much about them.

I’ve always been into Danko Jones. What better hard rock bands are around right now? Most modern hard rock completely sucks ass, Danko Jones actually manages to put some memorable riffs in his songs and he has a cool voice. He also takes the old cliche of singing about nothing but girls and somehow makes it sound fresh again.
