MORE BYZANTINE REUNION FOOTAGE

byzantineIn case you, like me, are still sour about not being able to attend any of the three Byzantine reunion shows in their home stage of West Virginia — or even if you did attend and had an out-of-body experience — here are a couple of more fan-filmed live videos. These two were shot at the 3rd and final show in Morgantown, WV on Sunday, March 7th, and were filmed and sent in by MS Reader Josh Hoversten who traveled all the way from fucking Madison, WI to catch two of the three gigs!! Says Josh:

The Huntington show was flawless, the Morgantown show they were playing without monitors and when I spoke to them before the gig they mentioned being really tired.  Still, amazing live band.  I can see why they had promotional issues, there’s no way in hell I’d go on stage after them.  Also, very nice guys all around.

Josh’s videos after the jump. You can also check out previously posted footage from the Huntington show on Saturday, March 6th here.

They were sooo tight at that show. It was insane how good they were. It really makes you sad that a band that good is no more.

What was the setlist? I’m really curious.

Yeah, I was at both the Huntington and Morgantown shows with my Madison friend John, mentioned in the post. It was a worthwhile drive from Charlottesville to catch both shows. The band was fucking amazing live and there is no question if they ever play again, I’ll find a way to see them. I actually shot the videos, so I do apologize for the lack of focus on them at times, but the mosh pit was in full form during “Stick Figure.” People were really into the show and it was awesome how much energy everyone had. I think I can recall the set list as follows:

    - Absolute Horizon
    - Slipping on Noise
    - Justicia
    - Hatfield
    - Redneck War
    - Five Faces of Madness
    - My New Casket
    - Sin Remover
    - Taking Up Serpents
    - Receiving End of Murder
    - Expansion and Collapse
    - A Residual Haunting
    - Nadir
    - Oblivion Beckons
    - Jeremiad
    - Stick Figure

    Encore:

    - NIB (Brief Cover, with Skip on vocals)
    - Cradle Song

Also, I’m pretty sure that they played “Temporary Temples” at the Huntington show in addition to this set.
