MILKING THE GOATMACHINE: MAY THE SCHWARZ BE WITH YOU

Monday, March 22nd, 2010 at 11:30am by

Reader Isaac Schwarz sent in the below video for the band Milking the Goatmachine, who Schwarz says “reportedly mixes brutal death metal, grindcore and surf rock, although I can’t see too much of the inclusion of the latter (unfortunately).” The band employs the single stupidest gimmick I’ve encountered this year, and the music is fairly generic… but since Mr. Schwarz has basically been doing “Completely Unreadable Band Logo of the Week” for me this past month, I figured I owe him a solid, and thus ought to post this. So check it out and tell Isaac what you think in the comments section below…

i dont know that id say theyre influenced by surf rock so much as blatantly ripping it off. also, just because you have a few blast beats, does not make you a grind band. please stop listing yourself as such.

  • You Don’t Know Me

The weirdest cover of Sacred Reich’s “Surf Nicaragua” I’ve ever heard.

Yeah, a third tier thrash band with a vocalist who sounds like Oderus Urungus DESERVED BETTER. Nah, Independent, Ignorance, and especially the American Way are quality albums.

I have known about this for the longest time. This is really old stuff.

Strangely, I actually enjoyed that. Not sure how that 8000lbs guy would fare on a surfboard though…

This band is great, their album is good, old news for me too.

OK, beat me down, but I liked it. Sure the vocals are of the trendy “I’m really pissed” school and the drumming is somewhat sketchy, but the music is pretty cool. Ripoff or not, the “Wipeout” interlude worked. I’m tired of the label thing – it’s rock and roll, it’s simple, and it’s fun. And, let’s face it, the goat masks are cheesy and gimmicky, but that’s what you’re gonna tell your friends about…
