PHOTOS: OPETH’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW IN NEW YORK CITY, APRIL 7TH, 2010

Photographer Jackie Cheng was on hand at Otep’s Opeth’s 20th Anniversary show in New York City last Thursday, April 7th, at which the band played all of Blackwater Park followed by a set consisting of one song from each of their other albums. Check out her captivating photos after the jump.

      I wish. I had a FREE FUCKING TICKET to the LA date, but because the transportation was fucked, It was too late to get to LA county in time for the show. I’ve missed a million shows in my life, but I’ve never been nearly as disappointed as when I missed this.

    The NYC show was easy one of the worst sounding shows I have ever heard. I am not saying the band was playing bad. I’m saying the FOH eng was def.

      I will agree that i was instantly pissed off that the sound at Terminal 5 SUCKED TOTAL FUCKIN BALLS but Opeth still somehow shined and I quickly gave two shits. Kinda made me love the show even more

      I thought it was okay too besides the bass drum and bass being too low in the mix. Definitely could’ve been louder all around, though.

        only reason i’m not heartbroken about missing this show was because it was at Terminal 5, that venue is just horrible on every account, sound sucks, it’s always overcrowded, unless you are like 6’10″ you can’t see anything, etc.

    I flew from Seattle to the L.A. show w/ my girlfriend. Totally worth it.

    I came down from Montreal with two of my buddies to check out this show. We had VIP tickets, so we got to meet the band, get pics n autographs, then we watched the sound check. It was an amazing show… my 4th Opeth show and by far my favorite. Can’t believe they started the 2nd part of the show with Forest of October, Advent and April Etheral… quite an EPIC set to say the least. Amazing band, amazing show. Love the pics.
