LUCKILY FOR EYES SET TO KILL, “THE LISTENING” IS ONLY THE SECOND-WORST SONG I’VE HEARD TODAY

I’ve gotten some press releases about Eyes Set to Kill before, but I must have either ignored them or listened to the music and then quickly deleted it from the annals of my memory. ‘Cause “The Listening,” the new song the band just debuted on Noisecreep, is my first real impression of them.

And you know what they say: you only get one chance to make a first impression. And this band just blew it.

I think we’re supposed to care about Eyes Set to Kill ’cause two of the members are cute sisters. But I live in New York City. I see cute girls every time. If I step outside my door right now, I’ll see fifteen cute girls by the time I get to the corner. And I don’t even have to listen to awful music to do it.

I mean, I might think Eyes Set to Kill were good. If was thirteen and had never, ever heard any metalcore before, ever. Or if I were deaf.

And I’d like to congratulate the men in Eyes Set to Kill for being so selfless. No one knows who you are fellas, and no one will ever care. You will always be the backing band for these cute sister chicks.

If I hadn’t listened to Fred Durst’s mind diarrhea earlier, this might be the worst song I heard today. So, Durst is still good for something: making other untalented people look less-untalented.

Oh God, this band is going to be HUGE, aren’t they?

    if u must know, theyve already put out 2 albums, this is prob off their third, if they hav one, or a late single. either way, theyre not huge yet, so maybe theres hope for the world

    Yep, they’re going ot be huge because they play loud music and they’re cute girls. Revolver is probably drooling all over them. I have no idea, since I don’t read Revolver.

    Funny thing is, there’s a lot of real, serious talent in the group — but they’re caught up playing that formulaic pseudo-extreme music bullsh*t. I can appreciate trying to make a buck and rise up in the industry, but it’s not like they can’t think of something better to do with their skillz.

    This band sucks. Call me old fashioned, but a girl screaming in a coarse voice doesn’t do ANYTHING for me, no matter what they look like. That said, still marginally better than reading Fred Durst’s horrible fucking lyrics.

    these girls are not cute. clef chins nullify any cuteness as does really obnoxious whiny singing. I actually think I’d rather listen to Limp Bizkit than this shit. actually given the choice, I’d go read a book instead.

    This band will be HUGE if you or Vince keep going on about them. You’re giving them free publicity, no matter what you feel about them. Same thing goes for the new Limp Bizkit.

    Ludicra = by far the most “real” women in metal. Probably the only metal band with female members who don’t care to draw attention to the fact.

    They’ve been around for awhile, but they keep getting progressively worst. The first album i ever heard by them was a lot closer to pop punk with some screaming than metalcore, which made it significantly more enjoyable since it wasn’t heavy and wasn’t trying to be heavy. Haven’t really cared about them since.

    This chick can actually scream well. They were around for a bit but broke up a year or so ago. Their last album was mixed by Kurt Ballou.

    I actually interview Alexia for a local college paper and she seemed like a down-to-earth person and seems to be really into the music. However, it’s just not my thing. Although this song actually sounds better than the group’s previous stuff.

    I still don’t quite understand your guys’ hate of metalcore (which is tired), but love of stoner rock / metal (which is as equally tired / unoriginal). At least some metalcore has variation in sound and isn’t the same, repetitive shit over and over again.

    Then again my standards for doom are Candlemass and Black Sabbath, so it’s tough company to keep (and I’m not saying all of that genre is bad either). There is good in it all.

    I am really good friends with the band and have been since pretty much their first album ‘When SIlence is Broken The Night is Torn.’ This song, ‘ The Listening,’ is off of their 4th album. They have been around for quite some time and have really grown into themselves as a band. They are all very down to earth, very friendly, and very enthusiastic. Simply enough, they are out there pursuing their dream. Who are you to criticize that? They’re not selling out to the mass media. They are making music because that is what is in their hearts. I have hung out with and gotten to know the band on a personal level and can say just how amazing they are. I am so excited to see them on Warped Tour! :) I have so much love and pride for these guys. Your less than educated arguments against them won’t change that. Ever.
