I'm digging Voyager!!

Doom's something fairly new to my ears and both these bands do sound par for the course: but if Slayer can flog every "almost Angel of Death" riff for 20 + years and have folk go ga ga over it, these guys work for me.

no they aren't the 'new' boringess. all these bands heard isis and mastodon around the same time and evolved into this mind- numbingly boring genre of epic pointlessness. Slow beats, out of tune low muddy guitars, and twelve minute songs with 60 seconds of vocals that basically amount to growling GRRRAHHH....... or VUUHHHH........ or SHHHRRRAAAAA..... or BUUUUUUHHHHH on the 1's. And they're all the same.

strongly agree with Double D. There are other bands doing this better than these guys, even though what's here isn't terrible by any means.

I'm really digging this right now, especially Voyager. They've got some real solid, percussive sounds going on.

Pretty awesome split album. I like both of the bands so far. That cover of the Cure's Cold is choice, can't top Robert Smith's vocals though.

I'm not dissing this type of music, especially because, if you ask any of my friends, this is the type of music I've been making them listen to for the past year or so. However, it seems like a SHITLOAD of bands are running with this sound lately. I mean the whole long, sustained riffs and slightly guttural screaming. Those kinda 'Isis'-style songs that my buddy always says you could cut the song by 3 minutes, have the same song and still have it last 5 minutes. I'm down for it, in fact I'm listening to it now, but it seems to be done a lot.

At least the line "two monolithic songs by Monolith and four epic voyages by Voyager" was more exciting than the music.
