MARK SLAUGHTER IS SO POOR HE HAS TO WORK FOR NELSON

The only time I ever saw Slaughter live, there were so few people in the crowd that Mark Slaughter (real name: Schlomo Slaughterowitz) was able to run through the audience high-fiving people. That’s a long way to fall from being on MTV and having the cock-eyed chick from 90210 in your video.

So I guess Mark Slaughter needs money, ’cause according to Bring Back Glam, he’s joining Nelson as their lead guitar player for their twentieth anniversary tour. Fucking NELSON. Man, I never knew anyone who liked Nelson. Like, I’d much rather be in Slaughter. In 2010. On tour with Winger and Enuff Z’Nuff and Jani Lane. That’s how bad it sucks to be in Nelson.

Of course, what Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum really need to do is get a Vinnie Vincent Invasion reunion going. Now that’s something I’d pay a shitload of cash to see.

      I dunno… I’m torn. Play shitty glam rock (even in Slaughter) or do IT work? My real question, Why does this shit even make onto MetalSucks to begin with? It’s no real surprise that most musician’s tour with other acts to make the ends meet. I don’t see you guys posting about how many fucking bands that Gene Hoglan has drummed for just to make some cash while S.Y.L. is in hiatus… Yea, I know you’re gonna say,” that he has only played for killer bands” and to that I say BullShit! He played for fucking Fear Factory and, to me, that’s just as shameful as Nelson.

      Shit…I didn’t wanna turn it into such a rant…

    I’ll straight up confess to liking Slaughter as a kid. I saw them open up for Poison and loved them. I’ll get into a drunken bar fight defending bands like Slaughter.. mainly because it’s fun… but that’s another subject all together..

    I think the reason he’s playing guitar for Nelson is that his voice is SHOT now.. have you seen any videos of him recently? It’s pretty sad… I really feel for the guy. At least he’s out there making music still. I’ll go get wasted and watch Nelson if they come through town.

    I saw Slaughter on their first tour, and his voice was already weak. The truth is, Mark has always been the kind of singer who does stuff in the studio that they could never deliver in a live setting.

      same goes for winger. highly over produced studio albums that they could not replicate live.

      i still liked them 20 years ago..slaughter as well.

      i even went and saw poison and cinderella a while back. they freakin kicked ass.

      i bet there arent many metal listeners in their 30s or 40s today that did not listen to poison, cinderella, ratt, bullet boys, faster pussycat, and on and on.

        Finally a glam metal post. Now if Metalsucks can only get that Reb Beach interview all will be well.

        Nelson were a band that set the standard for all deathcore bands to follow. Just listen to After The Rain. It’s skull crushing heavy metal. Bring Me The Horizon, Attack! Attack!, and White Chapel owe a great debt of gratitude to the se deathcore twins…Gunnar and Mathew. Just listen to After The Rain for proof.

        Yea, even though I listened to that stuff when I was 15(mainly to see the bitches they had in their videos) AND RATT “Invasion of Your Privacy” killed anything from Poison,Slaughter & Winger combined, I still would’ve acknowledged that that stuff was shit compared to Iron Maiden,Armored Saint, Hallows Eve and mostly anything off the Metal Blade (Metal Massacre) roster.

        I’ve only become the elitist prick that I am now because of all the really great fucking music I have heard since that shitty genre’s demise. That and when Nirvana finally died:)

          Hey, rise up for the rock. ‘Hair Metal’ (hate that LAME TERM), is not our/your enemy, hip hop/rap is, THAT genre is DESTROYING music/culture as we know it. This world NEEDS more ROCK (and metal of course). Fight for it.

            I appreciate the emotion Dude, BUT, there is plenty of great Rock & Metal available right now in the world,so much so, that I haven’t voluntarily listened to the radio in like 5+ years easily. Including the fact that I don’t watch any Music Television, I feel that I am actively doing my part to boycott this current trend of utter retardation here in the US where even the supposed “Rock” & “Metal” bands that we have to offer are more fucking concerned with their uniform image instead of the music. For fucks sake, even those trendy Indie motherfuckers have tats & piercings now…Ugh.

            With that, I’m gonna go back and listen to some more Mondo Cane.

    I once saw Slaughter open for Ozzy. He threw a guitar pick that landed on my shoe. Me, and the people to the front & sides of me looked down at it. No one made any expression or movement. After a second or two of evaluating the worth of bending over and retrieving this object (and obviously deciding against a valueless effort), we all casually went back to waiting out the rest of the show. I suppose the pick fell off my shoe sometime later, but I can’t say I know for sure.
