GET FLESHWROUGHT WITH DUDES FROM JFAC, ANIMALS AS LEADERS & ANIMOSITY

fleshwroughtReader “g. shotkocker” sent us a link to listen to Fleshwrought a few weeks back, and I immediately took a liking to their aggressive but melodic brand of tech-death (think: Gorod, Psycroptic). That was before I read through their MySpace page and found out that multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis bangs the skins for Animals As Leaders and used to do so for Animosity, and before I found out that Job For A Cowboy screamer Johnny Davy was doing the same here. And that was before they’d announced they’d signed with Metal Blade. Which should prove to you that I was judging the band on the quality of their music alone, and that the music is really fucking good.

Lucky for me, we’ll be hearing a whole lot more from Fleshwrought in the near future; Metal Blade will release the full-length record Dementia/Dyslexia on August 3rd, although the record’s been done for over a year. Peep a few tracks on their MySpace page and let us know what you think.

    thats your opinion, buts hes an awesome lyricist. i listened to one of their tracks from the metal blade sampler, looking forward to hearing what else they put out.

    I think Davy is actually one of the few metal singers where he has his own voice. You can totally tell its him and nobody else

    I have been following these guys since I read about them on this site in an interview with Animosity’s singer Leo. This is def my cup of tea and cannot wait for this to be released.

    this stuff is fucking great! one of my buddies worked on the mixing for their album and its been pretty neat to see how the demos have unfolded, and yeah, its not ‘freshwrought’ haha.

    I had been avoiding this due to Jonny Davy’s presence… the mention of Gorod has piqued my interest, however, as their particular brand of weedly weedly tickles me in just the right way. I shall check this out forthwith.

    cool i like these guys more than jfac for sure. he aint a terrible vocalist, always kinda reminded me of cattle decapitation. im suprised navene did everything, didnt know he played more than drums.

    I’ve been following fleshwrought since it was just navene with 2 songs on the space just drums, bass, and guitar. This was back when animosity was still together. He’s been working on this project for like three years or more. Fucking killer stuff though. I’ve bean anticipating this release since then, and its almost time. To all those who dis on davy, you just wish you could make such gurgly growls which sound like smoldering death.
