SUICIDE SILENCE COMPETE WITH SLAYER FOR THE “WORST VIDEO EVER” AWARD

Just about a year ago Suicide Silence released one of the best metal videos in recent memory for the song “Wake Up” — so why director Thomas Mignone thought it would be good to follow that up with a clip of the band just standing in front of a beige background, I dunno. I like Suicide Silence, I like No Time To Bleed, and I like this song — but holy shit, is this video ever boring.

In fact, while Slayer’s cheap ass vid for “World Painted Blood” is at least ROTFL-worthy, this is just sleep-inducing. If you’re gonna do something crappy, at least make it REALLY crappy so we can all have a laugh at your expense, y’know?

    On the Century Media youtube page this video is listed as the “Performance Cut” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FukeNR1ydOA which leads me to believe that there will at some point be a version with a “story” in it and that will make the video less boring. Though they should really re-shoot Mitch’s footage with him holding a microphone.

      Why would they release this on purpose then? That’s like releasing the album with one of the guitar tracks mastered on it and half of the bass tracks done. They could have waited a bit longer to at least put together some semblance of a music video…

      I don’t think there is such a thing as a “worst band ever”, but if it had to be between SS and PTH, the former would trounce their opponents. And I hate both bands equally.

      Yea, I think Ziltoid should be brought on as a guest blogger. Vince and Axl’s taste tends to lean towards more accessible bands sometimes. In this case, by accessible I just mean pure shit. This band is awful.

    1. did they forget to add like a background or movie in the background or something?
    2. why the fuck does Axl listen to this?
    3. how the fuck did they get signed in the first place? yeah I get deathcore is in, but there are WAY more talented deathcore bands and that says something.
    4. back to the video, why are all their hairdos like greasy or wet?
    5. why is the vocalist dumber looking than oli sykes?

    I will not defend the lack of serious musicianship in this band, but And Then She Bled, the instrumental with the chimp attack 911 call over it, was a masterpiece for inducing anxiety.

    1. Mitch Lucker is such a goon– what he does in this video appears to me like Interpretive Dance mixed with a Native American peyote ritual.

    2. While this is a pretty shitty video, I think it stands a better chance in the contest for “worst song ever.”

    I was at a Behemoth tour that Suicide Silence was supporting a couple of years back. Not only did SS suck and most of their fans dress effeminately, that bloody crappy stupid… motion Lurker did on stage (and still does, for fuck’s sake) just looked retarded. Not nice to watch.
