HEY LOOK, ANOTHER REALLY COOL MUSIC VIDEO
Monday, July 26th, 2010 at 2:00pm by Vince NeilsteinThis is one of those rare cases in this day and age where I would say proponents of expensive music videos are correct: this cool video did get me to pay attention to a new band.
Widow Sunday‘s video for “Strings of Clarity” owes a huuuuuge debt to Fred Stuhr, the mastermind behind the animation in Tool’s early music videos. The characters are similar, they move in the same manner, the textures and lighting are the same, they use the same dark fades between cuts… so similar to the Tool videos. But still, credit where it’s due, and animator Ossian has done a fine job here. The video got me to pay attention to (and subsequently write about) a band I otherwise wouldn’t have. And this video wasn’t necessarily expensive to make if he/she owned certain equipment – so there!

GREAT VIDEO!! these guys are really good. they are from my area. their new record is sick. the singer def sounds like randy blythe though but whatever still pretty awesome stuff.
Another really good band from that label is Spiral Trance. It’s not the same type of metal, but they still rock pretty hard.
I don’t know, I just couldn’t get into their music. But the video was pretty sweet. Maybe it just takes more listens.
The song was a bit boring, but the video was really cool.
It was just the same rhythm over and over with a higher melody type thing for four minutes. Bland.

Widow Sunday Is an Amazing band!!! We just had a tour with them and their live show is the best I’ve seen in a few years! These doods are true preformers and musicians… The shit that they do onstage and not miss a note is so cool!! Their CD “In These Rusted Veins” Is KILLER… I urge anyone to give it a listen!
The band and video suck. Typical shit metal you hear all the time now. Not an ounce of originality in the band or video. I was bored a minute into the video.
