NEW MADBALL IS SONG IS NEW

Madball are my Motorhead. Having released a fair share of classic, genre-defining albums, they don’t have to prove shit to anyone anymore. They don’t have to reinvent their sound or jump on bandwagons. Their metallic strain of the NYHC sound has made them a legacy act worth revering, and the albums they’ve released this century so far prove that that the quartet haven’t softened with age or via lineup changes.

So, no, I’m not surprised by the consistency and emboldened aggression of their latest song “R.A.H.C.” Short for “Real American Hardcore”, the track comes from their forthcoming album Empire. The lyrics are pretty fucking great, with the first verse dripping with sarcasm about those who bash/dismiss/disregard the hardcore community and the second curbstomping those same haters into submission. It’s fucking tough-as-nails, and you can hear it at the band’s MySpace page.

Though we have to wait until October 12 for Empire, Good Fight Entertainment has a number of pre-order options worth checking out, including bundles featuring a t-shirt and a copy of their R.A.H.C. 7″ single. It’s one of my most anticipated albums of 2010 — if not the most. Canadians will likely get to hear some of these tracks when the band hits the road in September with Comeback Kid, whose new album drops on Tuesday. Those dates are below.

Nice song, saw them play it live one week ago.

I love the chorus, very catchy.

    Madball is awesome, indeed.

Madball and Sick Of It All were bands that nearly scared me off Hardcore Punk when I was first getting into it. Bad song.

    • Brock Sterns

Agreed. I tend to get turned off whenever the lyrics are about the music that the band is playing…

Madball has released not even one “classic, genre-defining album.” They’ve been boring as hell from day one. Their renown is due to the AF connection.

    • Stephen

I agree. They are just a bunch of Yo Yo’s playing mediocre music.

    • djabthrash

Lol, i definitely don’t agree with that.

“Set it off” and “look my way” were landmark albums and inspired tons of bands. The following albums were great, even if most of the formula was established witht hose first records.

Good song…Madball is definitely consistent, they have never really changed or compromised their sound. Agree that Set It Off and Look My Way are classics…although my personal favorite is Demonstrating My Style, that album (especially the title song) is hard as fuck

it still blows my mind that the kid who plays drums on this is max weinbergs kid. that rules so hard.
