X-Japan is my favorite lolerific band.

  • X-Aus

Maybe I’ve lived in Japan for too long, but I don’t get it. What’s funny about this clip? It seems like a pretty standard X-Japan live clip.

  • Eric

I like X-Japan in my less sober moments.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Brady/5027798 Michael Brady

I like X Japan in all my moments, regardless of my sobriety.

Japanese people are still lolriffic, though.

In case the video isn’t working for anyone:

    CGI is awesome.

What? Those are real people? Huh.

Must have come to see the singer wearing the clothes Lizzy Borden gave to Goodwill back in 1991.

  • TerrenceMaddox

    If white zombie was japanese.

  • Kye

These guys still fucking slay live.

And I’m also kind of confused as to why this is funny.

  • stripgaga

ok i think i found why this clip is funny. either they cg’ed the audience to make it look like there’s a billion people there or there really are a billion people there. if you skip to about 4:45 just watch between :46-49. They do a close up of the audience and they put the camera on white people. A white chick and 2 dudes. One of which is wearing a bob marley or some kind of rasta green red yellow and black shirt.

  • Vlygar

If you’re referring to their awkward clothing,…. ehh, ok, but everyone here has seen worse in American bands. What I find really awkward is the fact that the audience in sectioned off. What the hell, inbetween each section, there’s a walkway that’s wider and bigger than most General Standing areas in a NY venue.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pedro-Cuadrado/508596596 Pedro Cuadrado

It’s ”funny” because it’s not one of the shitty ”technical” Deathcore band that gets the blowjobs on this blog..

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mikey-Ck-Vanderven/502827008 Mikey Ck Vanderven

lol, pretty stupid riff to be honest.
that was the first riff i learnt, and then i found out it was smoke on the water

its wild cuz everyones seperated into sections and people are standing and pumping their fists.. not only is this not a metal show, its not event a concert. its a horrible fuckin show for the audience, but a majority of people there wouldnt know the difference.

Woo, got my tickets for 10/10

  • Harro

Ummm… who was playing the solo? There’s a closeup of both guitar players during the solo and they were both doing rhythm (at about the 4:10-4:13 mark).

    • Kye

They only use recordings of hide’s solos live out of respect for him. It’s a shame someone as talented as Sugizo doesn’t ever get a chance to shine, but I can understand the band’s reasons behind it.

i thuk is a fairly common video… and i’ve seen some strange japanese stuff

  • http://www.segadriven.com Hairyman

I can’t believe anyone can take X Japan seriously. The Japanese have a habit of just ripping off Western bands and taking it too far. There seems to be a million Japanese Linkin Park clones as well. Abingdon Boys School and Girugamesh certainly fit that description.

But there is some good shit as well, mainly the guys doing their own thing. The Mad Capsule Markets are still the best thing (in my opinion) that’s ever come from Japan and the bassist’s new project AA= continues where they left quite nicely.

If you like genre fusion then Maximum the Hormone do a pretty crazy punk/metal/rap/hardcore thing. And if you like your melodeath with eurodance (which sounds odd but trust me, it’s worth a shot) then give Blood Stain Child a go. I’d reccommend their track ‘Freedom’ first.

  • Jake

I think it gets funny around

    OH A RUSTY NAILLLLIAGHAGHAGHAGH

  • KMFCM

It’s nice to see they rescued singer dude from that cult he was in.

seriously though, the old videos are funnier

everyone had hair spiked higher than Dragon Ball Z

  • jeff

this is pretty cool. it’s good to know there are still rock stars out there. I haven’t seen on in a long time.

  • Chance
