I hate to rip on these guys without admitting that I played drums in a shitty college band back around ten years ago. We kinda sounded like a really lame Goo Goo Dolls/Sister Hazel hybrid. Fortunately there was no myspace/pure volume/youtube back then to preserve our shittiness online for all eternity. I made enough money to support my weekend pizza habit, so I don’t have any regrets.

This reminds me of… like… Simple Plan combined with (hed) PE. No es bueno.

As a member of this “shitty band”, I understand that this response will be immediately discredited, but I think there are some basic human condition points that need raised.

1.) About 75% of all the comments on here reference nothing but the mix. Oh man, you guys got us so good… none of us have ever recorded or mixed before and we did the best we could based off the advice we could find. we played with levels for hours and hours, and finally concluded that the equipment and knowledge we possessed weren’t of high enough quality to achieve a good recording. the only reason we have any recordings at all is that a show we wanted to play (and ultimately played in front of 600 people for) required that we have at least 2 tracks on our myspace.

2.) “Ahhhh this genre is terrible.” 90% of all humans on earth absolutely despise the music contained within this website. okay, you’re right, we’re not a metal band at all. the only reason we’re on here to begin with is because Joel actually likes metal. I would rather listen to OAR than Maiden 7 days a week. But we have a band because we’re friends, and because it’s fun, and we play the genres that we overlap on.

3.) I know you’re all anticipating this comment, but those truly are the first 4 songs we ever wrote, and obviously the recording quality is terrible. Nobody on here is hating on the vocals; nobody is saying the drums are unoriginal; nobody is hating the bass lines; 1 person is hating on the guitar riffs. We’re all good at our instruments, are live show is a lot of fun, and we’re making money.

4.) Thanks for your comments on the bio. I agree that it’s poorly done and cheesy and I’ve been meaning to change it.

5.) Finally, we have no delusions of grandeur. We don’t anticipate getting picked up tomorrow and touring 55 cities with Underoath. Your fearless leader “Sergeant D” (who I’d love to have a chat with sometime, if at all possible) is the one who chose to spend his bandwidth on getting us a few hundred more myspace plays. But hey, kudos to you for creating such a radical, revolutionary, and polarizing website to get your hits and sell your adspace.
