HOW R U SPENDING COWBOYS FROM HELL’s 30TH ANNIVERSARY??

Ohhhhhhhhhhh COME ON!

As any true metaller knows, Pantera’s breakthrough album “COWBOYS FROM HELL” was released 30 years ago today. While all of Pantera’s releases are classics in their own right, I think we can all agree that it was this album which officially inaugurated the NEW GENERATION OF POWER GROOVE and paved the way for countless metal and hardcore bands to come.

It’s hard to believe that this song is a full THREE DECADES OLD today!!! It still sounds as fresh as anything coming out today IMO #texa$

In honor of this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, I will do a shot of Jager, put on some fingerless gloves, and play air drums to the breakdown in “Domination.” How about you?? In what way will you pay tribute to this classic album’s 30th birthday?? Did you ever think this day would come?!

        I like some of the music they cover but with an increasing coverage of hardcore and commercial crossover stuff, combined with the snarky tone, I come here less and less.

    Everyone knows that “Vulgar Display” was the album which officially inaugurated the NEW GENERATION OF POWER GROOVE and paved the way for countless metal and hardcore bands to come. On “Cowboys” they were still dustin’ off the Anthrax riffs.

    S’pose I’ll get hammered tonight while playing the album very loudly. That’s what I suppose the dudes would expect of us anyway. Or maybe not. I don’t suppose any of them knew that the 20th anniversary of the album would fall on a dumb thursday, meaning that a lot of people (myself *not* included) will have to keep off the booze tonight because of schools and jobs.
