GEE, I WONDER WHAT DAVE MUSTAINE MEANS

Monday, December 6th, 2010 at 1:00pm by

Dave Mustaine tweeted the below message yesterday, just a day after promising fans that “a huge announcement is coming for next summer in the States and in Europe and the U.K.” (I guess the U.K. isn’t part of Europe.) And it’s about as subtle a “hint” as when I got home that time and my then-girlfriend had left all my shit out on the sidewalk in boxes.

I’m gonna do any analysis because there’s none to be done here — Davey even capitalized the word “Big” in case any Slayer fans were too dumb to get it.

So the Big Four tour is clearly on for Summer 2011. That either makes you excited, or it doesn’t. But either way, it’s going to be one the biggest events in metal history. Discuss in the comments section below.

Yep. About as subtle as H1N1.

  • blahblah

i assure you that everyone will be disappointed by the announcements

Depending on the price, I’ll go. I still haven’t seen Metallica live yet and I’m almost 30. Gotta fix that.

I’m sure when bands say they are touring Europe, they usually only mean mainland Europe. Mentioning the UK seals the deal for our smeghead friends.

  • Stu

I just don’t care. I also don’t think it’s that big of a deal. It’s not going to be bigger than the Metallica Summer Sanitarium tours.

  • Anthony

Seems sort of redundant to have a big 4 tour after Anthrax, Slayer, and Megadeth all toured together this year on the Jagermeister tour, but considering I didn’t go to any of those, and i’ve never seen Megadeth live before, if this happens and it happens anywhere in Southern Ontario, i’m there.

  • WV

    twitter overload.

watch this turn out to be a tour with in this moment and five finger death punch.

    • BASSQUATCH

And that tour happens to be sponsored by Monster

    • brookh

      hahaha

  • chainchomp

i’ll prolly do see this but at the same time i hope someone comes along and does the “medium four” which will have four better lesser known bands………kinda like patton oswalt and all the others who did the comedians of comedy tour

    • chainchomp

*go not do, i can’t type

As much as I want to see the Big 4, I do agree that it would be cool to see the slightly less popular bands tour together. Exodus, Testament, Overkill, etc.

  • meemperor

If there is a big four tour, and with Megadeth going into the studio the Deth looks to make some big $$$ touring with Metallica this summer.

I guess I would go, although seeing Metallica play doesn’t really interest me that much.

  • Erik

not sure if i’d go for the music. I’ve seen all the bands in their prime and this might ruin it for me. Then again, it’s going to be a hell of a metal party.

  • David

McDonald’s is putting out a special commemorative toy free with each Happy Meal, so that Slayer fans get the message.

I’d be way more pumped if he announced a 25th anniversary Peace Sells tour than a Big Four one.

  • mchuckie1006

U predicting Megadeth, Carcass and Cannibal Corpse.

    • mchuckie1006

      *I am

  • aj lucas

if their is a big four tour id say “sweet i wont get ripped of by monster and ill see a full slyer set this time, anthrax, never seen em belladonna’s back YES!, megadeth is always cool. Metallica, really i have to set through this borefest, hum i guess ill just critique lars’ extremley mediocre drumming” yep, thats exactly what ill say

    • d34+h-2-4LL-8U++-M3+4L

Good for you, want a cookie?

Anyway, Lars is pretty mediocre these days.

  • Elston_Gunn

FWIW: Most Brits don’t consider the U.K. to be part of Europe.

“But either way, it’s going to be one the biggest events in metal history.”

Well, it WAS, last year, in Europe…

  • dunwich

    YES

Even tho Metallica are “nice” these days, Slayer only make records for $$$, I only see Megadeth for the old songs and Chris Broderick’s fuckin’ redic skills, and I’ve been trying yet failing to like Anthrax since i was 11 years old, I am all the fuck over the Big Four in the U.S.

Since all four bands together would play for around 5 hours total, an all day festival would be nice. Get some underground shit in there maybe….maybe…

    FUck that Wash up Mustane..

Give me back another Carcass Reunion..

Mustane can blow it out his ass..
We probably farts all over the stage..

  • P67

    *He

    Metal Suck Anyway

  • Lycanthrope

Dammit!- another year without Gigantour to look forward to….

  • Bierko

The suckass four. None of those bands have done anything worth a shit in 20 years.

And no Testament or Exodus? Sorry, this is a ca$hing in tour for people looking to relive the oldies.

  • Pastor of Muppets

I’d be more excited if this tour had any chance of coming near me. I know they’ll come to Boston and I’ll have to travel four hours and pay out my asshole just to see this.
