THIS SHOULD REDEEM ZAKK WYLDE’S ARTISTIC CREDIBILITY

Well here’s a pair of tweets from William Shatner — yes, that William Shatner — which will most certainly catch you off-guard:

I don’t even know what to say about this. I’m not offended because at this point I really don’t care what Zakk Wylde does, but I am kinda worried about the guy. I don’t know if he’s really hard up for money or is a just a huge fan of the Esperanto classic Incubus or what, but… I know that this is no less ridiculous than something Ozzy would do, but I think that Ozzy was about ten years older than Zakk when he started embarrassing himself this badly. So I guess I’m just saying that Zakk should slow his roll, y’know? He’s got years and years left yet to convince us that No More Tears was a fluke.

    I’ve never thought Zakk was even remotely relevant. Funny post and all but I just don’t see the point of being upset about a never was resorting to things like this. I’m not gonna say he’s not tr00, but i am gonna say he’s not a tr00 artist. Just like half of the other people talked about on this site. Like Steven Tyler, Metallica, Motley Crüe, and Ozzy. Do you really expect anything good/credible from any of these people? I don’t. I enjoy laughing about them here, but why the surprise and why the advice? I’d rather laugh at Zakk wylde than listen to anything he creates.

    I have no love for Zakk Wylde but I’d sell out for Bill Shatner in two seconds flat. Nimoy can call me too. I’d play bass guitar interpretations of his drugged-out 70s poetry. Fuck it, I’d work for any of the main cast from TOS except for Chekhov because all he ever does is yell really loudly and get in bar fights when you make fun of Mother Russia.

    The last Shatner I bought, Has Been, kicked ass, and that was with Ben Folds. I imagine this will be fantastic so long as people don’t take it too seriously. It’s Shatner after all, so I can’t imagine anyone would.

      Shatner is a legend…even musically. Has Been was great adn his style is great.

      Zakk doing this is great. Shatner has many respected musicians that work/write with him.

    Axl I think you fucked up with this article.. it seems most, including myself, think this is cool shit.

    Metal in general sucks ass these days (theres a few new awesome bands but none with the oomph to wake the posers up to “dangerous” music. Before anyone takes a dig, I put that in quotes for a reason. So I’ll preempt any derision from the comment by saying fuck you poser :) ) This is mainstream and it kicks ass. We know Zakk is talented so maybe this will get his music out to others to be used as a gateway to the awesome stuff that is out there.
