AMON AMARTH JOIN THE “WAR OF THE GODS”

So a new Amon Amarth song, “War of the Gods,” debuted on on Full Metal Jackie’s radio show over the weekend, and, of course, is now on the net. The quality isn’t top-notch ’cause it’s a radio rip, but it is good enough for you to hear that Amon Amarth didn’t fuck up and make some boring pussy shit — as though there were any possibility that they might.

“War of the Gods” will appear on Amon Amarth’s new album, Surtur Rising, which comes out March 29 on Metal Blade.

    Sound quality truly is terrible….but i am looking forward to this!!!

        Melodeath has been sucking for years. Arch Enemy? In Flames? Amorphis? Dark Tranquility? Amon Amarth are among a small handful of bands making this particular flavor of Metal that still hold my attention.

      Plenty of good stuff from the likes of Kalmah, Omnium Gatherum, Dark Tranquillity, Be’lakor, In Mourning, Mors Principium Est, Skyfire, The Absence, Insomnium, Noumena, Eternal Tears of Sorrow etc… you just have to dig a bit deeper.

    Pretty much everything you could ask for in an Amon Amarth song. I like that they did a little variation from the formula at the end of the song, grabbing the catchiest bits from their last CD, which had some great tracks but also some filler.

    I’m still not 100% sold…but off the bat it sounds like it has a smidgen more bite than than their “Twilight…,” though as it goes on it sounds more an more like the title track from that album… Still gonna pick it up/see them live.
