IT’S BEEN 72 HOURS SINCE THE RELEASE OF THE LAST NEW DEVILDRIVER SONG! SOMEBODY GET ON THAT SHIT, PRONTO!!!

DevilDriver’s new album, Beast, comes out in three weeks, and has twelve tracks on it — and as of today, with the debut of “Bring The Fight (To The Floor)” on Revolver‘s website, we’ve heard three of ‘em. All within the past twenty-one days. The last one, “Coldblooded,” was released to the public just last Friday.

Holy shit. I actually like DevilDriver, and I have never, ever spent this much time thinking about them. I am in every way, shape, and form out of things to say about this record, and I haven’t even heard the whole thing yet. I assume I will have by Thursday, though, after Roadrunner releases another nine tracks, plus every b-side the band has ever recorded, as well as bonus audio of Dez Fafara looking for a toilet when he has the runs.

How will they fill the remaining time to promote the record before its release? If they debut one more song, we’ll have heard a third of the record already. I guess they could release a video…?

At least this song debut comes with a fascinating, insightful, in-depth interview. Check out this excerpt:

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far?
Feedback about the record has been great and we are all pleased, as we worked very hard on this effort.

Well, THAT has “Pulitzer” written all over it. Barbara Walters couldn’t have done it any better.

Maybe I’m over-thinking this. I’m not in A&R. I don’t work for Roadrunner. Fafara has now had two successful bands; he obviously knows his job better than I do. Heck, everyone involved in Beast‘s creation is probably just happy we’re writing about it so much.

So, uh, yeah. Whatever, I guess. Check out the track here. Beast comes out February 22. Hopefully some of it will still be a surprise by the time of its release.

The new songs have been pretty meh, but this one is actually pretty good. Definitely the best of the ones that’ve been released so far

  • el fucko

    sarcasm.

also do they have a drummer or is it a drum machine? the drum sound more programmed than real.

    • nigbot

He may as well be one. His drumming is about as imaginative as a machine.

    • GoingDeaf?

This dude needs to study Sgt. D’s post about metal drumming and stop turning these mediocre songs into annoying mediocre songs.

      • matty2fatty

all I can hear is cymbals

    • Sandy n papo

      is a cyborg drummer

His drumming is very precise and consistent. On all the other albums he does very imaginative things and plays very intricate patterns with his hands and feet. I have only heard the new songs several times so I have not had time to dissect the drums parts yet. Don’t hate on the guy, because he is a really good drummer and guitar player.

devildriver are posers. a bunch of nu-metal kids that probably thought Coal Chamber was cool or something and wanted to try to be metal with one of their “icons.” and some of the worst fans ever. after seeing them two times more than i’d want, their name on a bill usually makes a strong argument for me not to go

    hating complete

    • CrownofWorms

How is DevilDriver Nu Metal I might ask. Also if they are a bunch of posers then why is one of there former members the guitar player for suffocation(not full time but played with them at a point). back on topic this new song does not sound nu metal at all

but then again I just started listening to devildriver and I have never listened to coal chamber. Is it cus Dez was in the band and coal chamber is nu metal. Well does that make testament jazz since Alex Skolnick plays in a jazz band.

      • wv

a lot of metal heads say this about devildriver. just because of the coal chamber connection. easy target i guess. dont hear anyone saying pantera was a glam band in the 90′s. devildriver is a killer band, if someone refuses to like them or give them a chance because of coal chamber, their lose.

Maybe they does not sound like NÜ METAL, because….they’re not Nü Metal!!!!!!! holly shit, the NÜ METAL does not even Exist as a Gener, even Jonathan Davis, Master of the Masters, have said like a 1,000,000,000,000 times that they’re not NÜ METAL, and KoRn is the best example for that because they’re category creators if you put it that way…

DevilDriver is like Groove or Death Melodic Metal or something, i just know that they have a power in their music, like no many other bans have, maybe Lamb Of GOd but, i think DevilDriver is the Top of the Metal this days…
        Hail!!!!

The internet is for people with too much time to waste complaining about anything and everything and in the end nobody ends the day giving a crap. Good night, you sad pathetic world.

The Last Kind Words was a really good album as were the two before that, but I was unimpressed by Pray for Villains and the songs they’ve released thus far have been…stock. I am still going to pick up the album though…I just hope I’m not kicking myself afterwards.

  • Malamor

I am not impressed by the song released so far…this is one album I will download when it leaks, listen to it 2 times and delete. This band is dead, the last kind words should have been named ‘The last good album’

  • Aaron R A

Definitely my favorite of the tracks I’ve heard. Sure to be a solid, consistently good album, even if it’s not amazing or groundbreaking.

  • deanmachine

I’m still waiting for a brawl between Dez and Morgan Rose. It’s been too long without any incidents.
