MAKE UP YOUR MIND, A PERFECT CIRCLE

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 at 12:00pm by

I didn’t think A Perfect Circle could get more irritating than when they released (e)Motive, but they’re going out of their way to prove me wrong. First they split up, and then they got back together, and then, just two months and four shows into their reunion run, they seemed to split up again. And now there’s this tweet, which more than implies that, no, all is well and good in APC land:

Now, in all fairness, the tweet that originally suggested that APC were back on “hiatus” didn’t actually say the band was dunzo — just that the 2010 tour was done. Which it was. Although it did say “Back to work on Ashes Divide,” guitarist Billy Howerdel’s other project (basically a Maynard-less APC), which, y’know, outright states that there’s no current work being done on APC.

So, yeah, this shit is getting confusing. Maybe it means we’re getting a tour, but no new album? I guess I would take that — as long as the set list sticks mostly to material from Mers de Noms and Thirteenth Step, that is.

Anyways, here are dates the band has already announced, courtesy Metal Insider:

May 21-22 (which day not confirmed yet) Columbus, OH-Columbus Crew Statdium (Rock On The Range)

July 2 Gibbons, AB, Canada – Boonstock

July 9 Toronto, ON, Canada – Downsview Park (Edgefest)

More details as we get ‘em…

And again they completely neglect the East Coast. Thanks Maynard, apparently I can only see you when you perform with Puscifer (which isn’t much of a complaint, they fucking kill live)

I flew to Arizona and saw them 3 nights in a row, different CD each night. It was their first show back, and it was amazing

Sounds like they’re doing the corporate radio festival tour. Whatever, ill go see em again. And imo, emotive amotive whatnot had some of their best and some of their worst material. I just cant stand to hear billy sing. Note to billy, jerry cantrell, darian whozit from SoaD and other guitarist frontman wannabes: stop it. Sing your harmony to the main man and leave it at that. None of you are david gilmour.

Don’t know much about Alice in Chains, do you, jackass??

      • The Hard G

apparently not, jerry did most of the damn singing

  • Darth Brooks

Yea i meant what i said. Go listen to some more cynic you proggy bastard.

    • Stu

You can’t even respond in the right place, so I know what I’m dealing with here. Where are you even getting Cynic from? My comment was pointing out you don’t know jack shit about Alice In Chains; the Jerry/Layne interplay has gone on since the very beginning. They were more co-vocalists than anything. You are aware of that, right? Jerry actually sang leads on songs. He also wrote a good amount of lyrics.

  • Darth Brooks

Man, Cantrell’s publicist is a nerd.

    • Stu

Wow. Are you such a failure in all aspects of life?

      • Brock Sterns

This back and forth is pretty good. I lost track of whos playing who
