DARKEST HOUR WIN “MOST ROMANTIC BAND OF THE DAY” AWARD FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 at 4:00pm by

Just yesterday Darkest Hour debuted a new song from their forthcoming album The Human Romance, and, hey, lookit, they’re already streaming the full album! Check it out here!

I don’t quite gathered all my thoughts about the record just yet — we only heard it for the first time ourselves last week — but I do know that it’s as epic as a really epic thing, and I do know it’s really good. So just go listen.

The Human Romance comes out a week from today on eOne.

While this is a solid DH album, it’s missing that piss and vinegar “Undoing Ruin” and “Hidden Hands” had. Ever since Kris left it feels like they are missing something.

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing and I was hoping this album would be an improvement but it isn’t. I’d say Deliver Us was their finest moment. The recording is just uninspired now, and whoever the lead guitarist is has no soul, I feel like i’m listening to Kirk fucking Hammet when those solo’s kick in. Also, serious absence of guitar solo’s all around.

          Well established argument, point taken.

      exactly

everything since Undoing Ruin has just been really really hit or miss.

      more miss than hit

Hmmm.. Darkest Hour Myspace brought to you by… Wendy’s Chicken Sandwiches apparently.

It feels a little too long to me. They probably could have done without one or two tracks, like maybe “Wound” and “Beyond the Life You Know.” Major label album fluff.

Really digging the Peter Wichers production — awesome guitar tone.

can we let melodeath die already?
