EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: INDIAN, “THE END OF TRUTH”

Indian - Guiltless

When I think of what I want heavy music to sound like, Indian are pretty much it. Don’t let the kinda trippy (but awesome) album art fool you; this ain’t no boring psychedelic droney shit with recycled Mastodon riffs. “The End of Truth,” from Indian’s new album Guiltless (April 12, Relapse), is everything modern heavy music should be; creative, challenging, hooky in its own unique way (despite constant dissonance), and it’s overwhelmingly, monolithically crushing. Better yet, it does all of this at the [somewhat] relaxed pace of doom; it’s like Morbid Angel went and smoked an ounce of weed and came back just… a little… slower.

Have a listen to the aardvark baby impalingness of “The End of Truth” below. Pre-order Guiltless here.

  • jadedkid

Into it. Thank you for bringing this to out attention. I like how harsh the vocals are, dude sounds like he’s constantly dying. It actually almost sounds like some of the vocals on slaughter of the soul.

I thought that Indian were going to be like a throwback 70s style rock band aka Wolfmother. Totally different to what I was expecting.

  • Taintraker

Music is good, vocals are terrible.

  • Blargh

The vox remind me of the higher-pitched half of Javelina…who you do not cover nearly enough, if ever.

  • casey

Their other album “slights and abuse/the psychophant”(spelling?) is fucking awesome. Been eagerly awaiting this.

I saw these guys open for Agalloch. I hated them live, especially before Agalloch. It made no sense.

    • Conor

      Have you heard old Agalloch?

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Holland-Rains/1107726154 Holland Rains

        Yep.

  • ripptuff

Its kind of refreshing to hear that they weren’t the band I expected. That doesn’t happen often….

  • cw

    damn this was fantastic!
those vo-kills are kinda grating though

  • Utmu

I like the vox. Music is a little too dissonant for my tastes though, but it could grow on me.

  • InGoreWeCrust

More good shit from Chicago. This city cant stop

  • Evan

  • TaunisYearOne845

DoomSludge eats shit. I fucking hate everyone of these stupid slow lame bands.

    • BigBintheAV

  • Nick

My tattoo guy does their cover art…actually, one of his pieces for a previous album is apparently banned in Ireland(!).

Anyway, another killer Chicago metal band. Been damned proud of my city for the past several years: Yakuza, Nachmystium, Atlas Moth, Pelican, Indian…list goes on and on…
