XIBALBA = YOU’RE MOSHING [via tagger metal/909]
Pretty much everybody who can tell their asshole from their elbow knows that Southern California is the best place on earth. But what a lot of people don’t know is that although the sunny, jailbait-laden beaches of Orange County and glamorous shops of Rodeo, Robertson and Melrose are definitely awesome, the best part of California is the Inland Empire! Home of bands like Suicide Silence, Winds Of Plague, and Kottonmouth Kings, for whatever reason the 909 is like a factory for great music. The latest addition to the 909 family is XIBALBA, who just debuted their new single/video “Cold” (directed by Alvin Carillo and filmed/edited by Justin Benitez).
This is one of the sweetest videos I’ve seen in years, and it’s pretty much exactly what a hardcore show should be: a bunch of bros kicking it, getting wasted and punching each other in the face. That’s right: NO FUCKING GIRLS to ruin everything!! If you want to have awesome shows like this one that get the party started, just make sure you include everything on this simple checklist of things in the Xibalba video:
- Hot dogs and Doritos
- 40s/weed/drunk Mexicans
- Some crappy apartment in Corona/Fontana/Ripperside
- Camo shorts, Obituary shirts and Kobe Bryant jerseys
- Moshing in broad daylight
