SIT DOWN, KORN

Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at 11:30am by

So the bad news is, I doubt that Vince and I will be invited to a Korn listening party ever again, and that makes me sad, ’cause I really, really appreciate free food and beer. And the good news is, it means I will never have to hear the rest of “Get Up,” the band’s new song, of which they are now streaming roughly thirteen seconds (below). Because there’s only three good things about this: 1) it’s so short that it’s over before you have a chance to find your cyanide pills, 2) you get listen to to Jonathan Davis make an ass out of himself in the intro and outro, and 3) the guitars actually sound like they’re saying “Blah blah blah.”

Holy shit, Korn, even your instruments are bored with you.

Why wont you be invited back again?

dubstep + korn = something exactly as unappealing as it sounds.

  • MetalMeatHammer666

JD is such a rebel. He refuses to make good music.

    • Mike

      This.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Stracquatanio/786020622 Steve Stracquatanio

I legit just LOL’ed in class to myself

  • Meathead

Huh. I can’t listen to it right now to judge for myself because I’m in a good mood and would like to keep it that way. But it’s funny that all the messages left by other people along that fucked up comment bar thing are overwhelmingly positive. I guess Korn fans and their respective dwindling IQ will slurp up anything ol’ Jonny blows out his… whatever Michael Jackson called his nose in between surgeries.

  • WowWee!

I know korn is horrible but this can’t really be them is it?

    • http://www.youtube.com/mvinge Matt

I was thinking the same thing…

  • Schnoor

Anyone who still shows respect for Korn needs to realize how much better music there is in this world and stop trying to find even the smallest reason to listen to their music. They are terrible live, there music is some of the worst, and they seem like a bunch of assholes, no respect for the Korn.

    • CrusherDestoyer

Korn has undoubtedly struggled to keep it together, but to say they “are terrible live” is simply not the case. They are actually very good live

  • cocksucker

Sayeth what ye willeth, but I though it sounded pretty cool. I can also bet that if this was a snippet from BTBAM’s new EP, you all would be praising it like Yahweh himself wrote it.

    • http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com Alkahest

      This exactly.

This, by itself, is not offensive to good taste. Skrillex collaborated with them on it, so it’s not like they themselves were trying some half-assed version. Just because it has the Korn title, people will hate it before they even press play.

  • kmfcm

Limp Bizkit could fix this right now by breaking up and saying “okay Korn, you win”.

    • BASSQUATCH

      Lol
      +1

  • DubstepSucks

There’s only a few good dubstep tracks around that I’ve heard. And not a single good track from Korn…
I’m actually looking forward to hearing a dubstep-ish record that I could listen easily from start to finish.

  • Full Metal Life Jacket

The comments left on that cloud thing are the best! It’s a 13 second rough demo and people are like “This shit is fucking amazing!”

My favorite one: “YES! I freaking LOVE when you dudes mix the hardass electronics”

Are there even “hardass electronics” on there?

  • Cat Tyrson

What… The… Fuck…? Meanwhile there are millions of bands who DESERVE support and respect, yet this fuckin’ twat has an endless license to assault the world.

Have you not heard of dubstep?

    • Jeff Burstmann

Dubstep was great, until it suddenly became easy to “Dub-stepify” music with little effort. Now it’s turned into total shit remixes made by American kids with no knack for making music. Kinda like Korn now that I think about it. Yes, American dubstep is what Korn is to metal

  • Nick>

By making dubstep and not sounding like korn they might actually make something i might listen to.

  • http://www.thejamminjabber.com thejamminjabber

    Korn were never good. Ever.

  • Aaron R A

It does really sound like Skrillex.

    • HTTYO

      It is.

  • mynutz

So embarrassing to hear 45 year old guys say “WE are here to fuck shit up…shit shit fuck shit fuck yo…”….grow up,douche…

  • attila

here you go guys, awesome dubstep made of Amon Amarth, iwrestledabearonce, Bring Me the Horizon, etc… monstrous. :D http://soundcloud.com/asiangirlsluvit/the-metalstep-mixtape

      Fucking terrible,

  • huntermc

Kornstep? Actually, I don’t think it sounds that bad.

  • noobpotato

Korn doing dubstep? This has got to be another joke (the other one being korn themselves).

  • Doomed do Better

He not lie, it new and it shit.

  • Randy Blythe’s Illegitimate Child

What a surprise, MS is more worried about publishing an article about a band they hate (but loved 10 years ago) then actually posting something worth while to read. Thank Thor for Blabbermouth.

  • nignig

is this real? Dubstep is a legitimate scourge. It’s really sad that with all the rich history Brittan has with electronic music they throw this at america. Dubstep this days has nearly zero 2-step or dub influence at all, it’s a bunch of hip-hop drums and wobble bass (the breakdown of electronica)… poo

  • SourDeez

Even Korn is catching onto the dubstep trend. Shit, dubstep is really being destroyed.

    • Rik

“Even Korn is catching onto the dubstep trend. Shit, Korn is really being destroyed”

      FTFY

  • geoffrey

If they would bring back HEAD to the band they could be good Again. HEAD had that solo record that had badass guitars sounded like korn again.

not so great singing and the kids singing were annoying but you could tell that in the old days when korn made a song like “blind” HEAD came up with the Starting HEAVY riff. without him they are just putting out crap.

  • Smell the Glove

I like good Dubstep. unfortanely there is a lot of shit out there and that is what gets mainstream play. The same can be said about Metal

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Mritz-Rabson/639118811 Mark Möritz-Rabson

Well, those aren’t guitars – but it still sounds like blah blah blah.

  • metalhead616

I must admit, I liked it. better quali and that freaky stuff like that would make the band enjoyable again. for real….

  • Rik

This seems like a joke. It has to be a joke. Please let it be a joke.

    • Phillip

I’ve been a Korn fan since 1997, and I thought I would hate DubKorn, but it actually sounds pretty fucking great. I think it fits their sound. Hard to tell by 13 seconds though…
