METALSUCKS MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR 2011 ANNOUNCEMENT, DAY 2

Earlier this week we began to unveil the line-up for the awesome new tour we’re sponsoring by providing you with three clues as to the identity of the first band, and asking you to guess who they were. Well, it seems like you had no trouble figuring out that it was Chthonic, masters of orient metal. They’ve got a new album, Takasago Army, coming out later this year, and they’ll be the first band of four on this oh-so-killer line-up.

Wondering who the other three bands on the bill will be? Here’s the set of clues to help you figure out the next band up:

  • Their  fourth studio album will be out later this year.
  • It will be their first album with their new drummer.
  • Two of their members are related.

Get crackin’ on those guesses, and we’ll give up the name of the band this Tuesday, May 31.

      I was just thinking of that IWABO picture as well, haha. Devildriver has put out more than 4 albums, so I don’t think it’s them. Sounds to me like it may be Skeletonwitch though…

      I’ve seen Chthonic twice and both times they were jaw-dropping good. They actually have good symphonic arrangements and underneath the pomp and circumstance are a killer blackthrash band.

    Skeletonwitch is touring with Arch Enemy and Devildriver around September. Should be a good line-up if this is it.

      I’ll give them credit though, while Cradle’s the first thing that comes to mind whenever I hear them I feel that they perform at a significantly higher level. If the rest of the bill’s awesome I won’t skip ‘em but I wouldn’t go just to see Chthonic.

      Would totally be down for Skeletonwitch.

    I’m going to be so disappointed if it’s Skeletonwitch and there are no southern California dates. Seriously, the free show they played at the Key Club last year was the best show I have ever been to (with the final date of the ’08 At the Gates reunion tour at a very, very close second).

    It certainly sounds like Skeletonwitch, which means that this is already the official best tour of the year. Skeletonwitch AND Chthonic? If this is the case you better have stops in every major city across the US AND Canada or else face the consequences from those who won’t get to go (the consequences being incessant bitching, mass suicides and possible assassination attempts).
