METALSUCKS MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR 2011 ANNOUNCEMENT, DAY 3

Last week we began to unveil the line-up for the awesome new tour we’re sponsoring by providing you with three clues as to the identity of the first two bands (out of four total) on the bill; by now you already know that orient metal masters Chtonic are on the trek, and a lot of you correctly guessed that the second band is Skeletonwitch. And we’d be sad that you’re all so damn good at this, only we’re way too excited about this tour to be sad about anything!

So here are your three clues as to the identity of the third band on the bill…

  • They have released a new album every other year since 2003.
  • They have debuted multiple music videos on MetalSucks!
  • One of their most famous anthems is about the weather on the West Coast.

Have you figured it out? Get all your guessin’ in now before we reveal who it is on Friday, June 3!

    Well I guess I’ll go for skeletonwitch and then just drift to the back for the rest of the show. On the plus side since Arch enemy is there, a lot of chicks will also be there. Which is always a plus.

    I have to say, this tour would be 50/50 for me assuming the fourth band IS, in fact, Arch Enemy. I’d love to see Chthonic, couldn’t really care less about Skeletonwitch, and I’ve seen DevilDriver once before, and I can’t say I was particularly impressed.

    Devildriver is way bigger and more successful than Arch Enemy though…seems weird that they’d take a support slot…either way, DD and SW make this worth it, though I bet it won’t hit Canada…

    I’d go just to see Skeletonwitch. Never really looked into Chthonic, this tour will probably force my hand though. DevilDriver’s not bad in my book, they have some cool songs.

    Arch Enemy always put on a great show, and have enough albums/material to draw from to make a good show.

    Skeletonwitch are solid. Never disappoint.

    Chthonic are very impressive and have a very distinct sound.

    Sad to say that DD are the weak link on this tour (for once) with their rather lacklustre recent albums and sub-Pantera schtick wearing thin.

    Will still be a good show though, of this I have no doubt.

    well, devildriver haven’t released a new album every year since 2003…but it doesn’t bother me cause the tours not coming my way. Unfortunetly…

    Devildriver’s a consistently good band with some great moments, and I’ve always enjoyed them when I saw them live. This is lining up to be an interesting tour, IMO.
