METALLICA, SLAPPIN’ DEE BASS, MON

There’s a pretty legendary story about how a pre-Primus Les Claypool auditioned for Metallica after Cliff Burton died. Of course, the job actually went to Jason Newsted, so we’ll never really know what Claytallica might have sounded like.

But we do now have this slap bass cover of “Master of Puppets” by Viaceslav Svedov, which is close enough!

Is it wrong that I really, really, actually and without irony enjoy this? I mean, what’s not to love, right? It gets “Master” stuck in my head, AND it makes me wanna get up n’ dance!
