WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE EXTRA IN ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY’S “STAGE BREAKER” VIDEO?

In Annotations of an Autopsy’s new video, for the song “Stage Breaker,” the band plays on a rooftop for a crowd of about thirty fans. Vince and his girlfriend threw a rooftop BBQ last summer and more people showed up, so maybe if Annotations of an Autopsy had given their extras free food and promised not to play awful deathcore, they would have attracted a larger crowd.

Then again, if they attracted a larger crowd, we wouldn’t have the benefit of getting to pick various extras and watch them with great specificity. A few of my favorites:

  • The Juggalos. Or maybe they’re just dudes in clown make-up. In any case, at this point you shouldn’t wear clown make-up to a concert unless you’re a Juggalo. Otherwise it’s just like wearing a white sheet over you’re head even though you’re not in the KKK. People are gonna get confused, and trouble will ensue.
  • The dudes in wigs. Why are there dudes in wigs? Just to be “fun?” To make it appear as though there are more women in the group? There actually do seem to be at least three or four real live ladies in the crowd, so it must just due to the aforementioned desire to convey a feeling of “fun.”
  • Speaking of women — the girl in the green dress on the left side of the screen must be someone’s girlfriend or something, because she’s totally out of place. She’s dressed respectably, she has as much rhythm my mom enjoying 80′s-era Rod Stewart at a bar mitzvah, and there are more than a few shots where she appears to be bored out of her fucking skull:

    This video absolutely shocked me when i first saw it. I had no idea what they looked like, and I’ve only heard their last album once. But I remember it being halfway decent old school death metal. How did they go from that to looking and sounding just like Emmure, except twice as embarrassing?

      I have to disagree, this is not twice as embarassing as Emmure. Not good by any means, I don’t want to rupture my ear drums listening to it.
      I also have to wonder if the stringsmen in this band don’t have/know a tech or someone who knows about guitars. Because the strings on their guitars are so loose, it’s no wonder they can barley play anything but breakdowns

        There’s a chance that lighter gauge strings were put on for the video strictly for that floppy string shot.

        Honestly though, I wouldn’t doubt if they played in Drop A with .9′s

          That’s just a slower frame rate. The strings on a guitar really do vibrate that much, it’s just too fast to see.

        I think they are just going for an effect with the floppy string shots, kind of like Pantera did on the 5 Minutes Alone video. That song’s only in a D but they have some ridiculous floppy string closeups

        And yeah the song is not twice as embarrassing as Emmure, but visually I think they are…the whole band looks ridiculous

    i genuinely hope annotations of an autopsy are ashamed of this. im sure there will be many “haters gona hare” comments, but if at any point in your career you find yourself tempted to rip off emmure, then you are completely artistically bankrupt. its just music for confused teenagers who are still angry at their dads for the lack of hugs they received as children. utterly pathetic mess of a song

    Man, gang chants are so br00tal! I wish they would’ve recorded ALL of the vocals with gang chants! And there aren’t enough first fret tritone chords… I just never get tired of those! Overall, a solid effort from one of the most exciting bands in the modern metal scene!

    Watching this video, I am thoroughly disappointed in AOAA right now. I was hoping that they were going into a more death/ less “Yo bro, let’s do breakdowns until we shit our own dicks” type of deal.

    Anyway, there’s a Borat copycat with a red wig at 0:47; At 1:12, he gets a quick cunnilingus tickle by some random scene bitch. I guess, underaged teens do it better.

    Also, pause at 1:09, see that the vocalist is at the front and at the back of the meager group of about thirty people, as pig face. I can almost say that piggy was my fave, reminding me that here in North Carolina, there’s a Piggy Wiggly wherever you need one.

    The “stomp” with brand new Charlie Taylors at 2:43 was almost br00tal enough for me to yawn or scratch my balls.

    I would like to say br00tality happens about 3:14. when the local police arrived in concern to a “domestic disturbance” or in other words, “haters” being “haters”, or the bass and guitars being in some random chicks’ hands at 3:54 during “breaktime?”, or how out of sync the bassist looked with his br00tal string bend at 4:14, it’s hard for me just to choose one.

    Last thing, pause on the bassist (I think), is that an evil Hello Kitty or Skelanimals deal tattooed on his arm? Hmm, my ex would be jealous. Fuck.

    Get over it guys, it’s a take off of Emmure , the EP contains a machine head cover (ten ton hammer) I dont think it they ever intended it to be an AOAA release.
    They have had a lot of changes in the band tand hey have been off the radar all this year no tours or release’s and what a way to to get your name all over the internet and get people talking and get your name back in peoples heads. Theese guys are not stupid they have been around the music scene for many years and thrive on all the slagging they get and have had over the years so why should they worry its all publicity.

    I know that people are gonna hate me as soon as i start, so imma go all out on this.

    I like the song, ok its not musicly brilliant, but its what aoaa are good at, thier latest album was a really average attempt at death metal, they made it pretty clear that they’re not really keen on “reign…” themselves, and they obviously want to stay part of the hardcore scene, HERES WHERE YOU START HATING ME… as a person that enjoys pretty much all metal and hardcore (and a few other things) i’ve noticed that the metalhead community these days tends to be obnoxious and judgemental, the music’s great, just the fans have began to make the whole thing incredibly difficult to enjoy, the hardcore scene however tends to be far more personal, also theyre respectful and fairly open minded, i can see why aoaa whent back to being deathcore. done. rile me up more!
