GET VIOLATED BY FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE

I didn’t quite realize how popular Fleshgod Apocalypse have already become until we were flooded with e-mails regarding the band’s new video, “Violation,” last night. Not that I’m totally taken aback by out readership’s passion for these Italian stallions or anything — not only is the Salvatore Perrone-helmed clip really good, but the song slays, too. Definitely makes me excited to hear the rest of the group’s new album, Agony, which comes out August 9 on Nuclear Blast.

And do not forget!!!  Fleshgod Apocalypse will be on the MetalSucks-sponsored Summer Slaughter tour, along with The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Darkest Hour, Dying Fetus, Six Feet Under, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, Powerglove, and Within the Ruins. Get dates here.

      I would HATE to agree with you but it looks like i might have to. Definitely better on Candlelight/Willowtip. I still have a feeling that the rest of the album will kill.

        Yeah, I’m really skeptical now… the classical stuff was so well done in guitars, composition and interludes at Oracles and Mafia.. this is just some ‘easy’ way to pull it, and not a good way for sure as it sounds insanely generic and uninspired. NB probably played some Nightwish to them and told to guys at FA that ‘this is how you should do the ‘classical’ stuff’. Mafia and Oracles are still fucking sick, and I still have Hour Of Penance too.

          I’m still optimistic about the album as a whole.

          But this first track has me worried they’ve taken some bad advice and made a mistake.

      Its a music video dumbass why wouldn’t try use makeup? Not to mention why does putting on a visual show automatically discredit the audio aspects of the show? Try actually listening to the music first. That being said, the song is pretty meh. Id be willing to bet the rest of the album is better though

    Not too shabby. Definitely leans towards more classical elements compared to previous work (like ‘thru our scars’ but more). I can bet the entire album won’t be like this though. I’m sure they found a good balance…

    Honest question: Is this band serious? Or are they one of those bands who have a gimmick of being as ridiculous as possible. I mean there is no way those clean vocals are serious. Plus the name sounds jokey and they are dressed like lepers.

    this band has become a watered down version of itself so quickly. Oracles fucking dominates and now we have this Septicflesh, Dimmu Borgir shit?!?!?!? what the fuck happened?

    and what is the singer doing playing drums. get Paoli out in front of the mic again!! best vocalist i had heard in ages!!

    guess Nuclear Blast had to spit shine them, tweak their sound and get them ready for the dumb american deathcore audience. still the best band on the pathetic summer slaughter tour.

    I’m don’t understand all the hate, this video may be cheesy but still entertained the hell out of me. The song has more classical/”nuclear blast” elements….but is hardly mainstream pandering.

    I guess I’ll go against all the uborkvult posts to say I like this sound. Neo-classical death metal? I want more, please. I could do with less synth (just keep the neo-classical in the shreddage), but the vocals are fun.

    It seems that people will bitch about every new album these days. “it doesn’t sound like the last album.. Sell Outs!!” They are finally doing what they have been leaning towards with their ep, infusing classical elements with their brutal tech death style. If you want to listen to something that sounds just like oracles then go listen to oracles.

    I like it, but their drummer needs a huge dose of creativity

      At this point, he’s only had about two and a half years experience on drums. He told me himself at the Decibel Defiance tour with Suffocation. With that said, he is doing fantastic.

    I just saw Fleshgod Apocalypse last night with Power love and Dying Fetus. It was the single greatest night of my life. And getting to meet them was even better.
