WEEDEATER TO EAT WEED ALL ACROSS AMERICA

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 at 12:00pm by

Whether they’re shooting themselves in the feet (literally) or fending off sandwich rape from a giant mutant racoon, there is always something interesting going on in the world of Weedeater. And that fact alone might be enough to compel you to go see the band on their upcoming American headlining tour*. But Weedeater are sweetening the deal to further compel you to a show! Not just by playing awesome stoner metal — that’s a given — but by bringing along Saviours, Bison B.C.**, and Fight Amp, too! I’m not like a huge Saviours fan or anything, but Bison and Fight Amp both rule, especially live.

So hide your joint well — you know those bouncers will be extra-on-the-lookout when the band is called “Weedeater” and the poster has pot leaves on it — and get your butt to one of these shows. Dates after the jump!

*”Why not a North American headlining tour?” Canadian (but not Mexican) fans wonder. I’d wager it’s either because a) the Canadians would never ever allow the Weedeaters across their border, or b) because it’s Canada, the silliest place on Earth.

**Can the other Bison please give up now, so we can stop typing “B.C.” all the time? You lost, fellas. The other band is better known than you. Find a new name. I suggest Mastodon. Oh, wait.

Good for Bison, this is a good tour for them to get on.

    • stu1

Why? They’d probably play to about the same amount of people on their own. Turnouts on this thing will be ghastly.

      • http://allmetalresource.com Matthew Grant Anson

In the sense that they have crossover appeal and could pick up fans of bands like Weedeater (who have a nicely sized contingent of loyal fans, God knows why).

        • stu1

Same fanbase, already. There’s no crossover. And Weedeater really don’t have much of a following at this point.

  • Rusty McThulhu

Having the BC there now makes it a weed reference in my mind haha.

  • Nonsensei

    Bison Before Christ.

    Weed tweeter.

  • Abu

Holy shit. I went fucking NUTS when I saw this.
Best update ever to read first thing in the morning. Weedeater is the SHIT. Will most definitely go see them at Sonar.
(Holy fucking SHIT I just looked at Sonar’s website and Swans is playing there the day after Weedeater. Life is good.)

    • stu1

I’d save my money and just go to Swans.

  • SxPxDxCx

Hell yes! On a Friday night in Denver too.

    9/13/2011 Lee’s Place – Toronto, ON

    • Bluemobius

Yeah, ther is a Vancouver date too. Looks like MS forgot to read again.

  • Pri

Saw Saviours supporting Mastodon the first time I saw them. They’re worth this tour alone, sadly it doesn’t come to the UK.

  • spotted hammer

again, why the hate on Canada…

  • dan nash

its the flapping heads, and beady little eyes.

Hate Canada, Jerk off Devin Townsend… Once again Axl proves that he lacks knowledge to connects dots…

I don’t know how you measure that the other “bison” is more famous, If you google “Bison” Bison B.C.’s myspace is the first thing to come up.

Ohhh how I wish there was a Calgary date for this tour.

    • Bluemobius

He’s saying Bison B.C. is better known. (Read his sentence in the context that he is speaking to the other band called Bison (not B.C.))
