WORST THING EVER OF THE WEEK, PART 1: SKIP THE FOREPLAY’S VIDEO FOR “THIS CITY (WE’RE TAKING OVER)”

I suspect that Skip the Foreplay intended their name to have positive connotations, but, really, all it does it illustrate the fact that its members probably have no idea how to please a woman.

They certainly have no idea how to please anyone with eardrums and a brain. I’ve never encountered them before, but this morning, a reader (who I’m relatively certain has some association with the band, although I can’t tell for sure) sent us a barely-literate e-mail encouraging us to check out their video for “The City (We’re Taking Over),” and it’s the kind of thing which makes me perfectly okay with the idea of the world ending. It’s like somebody took the most generic core music available and mashed it up with the most generic electronica available and mashed that up with a crying baby on an airplane. It’s that level of irritating.

What’s worse is that it features guest appearances not only from some musicians I could give a shit about (members of Sucked by a Sucking Suck and Blind Witness), but also by former Despised Icon co-frontman Alexandre Erian, I guess because he thought I enjoyed and defended The Ills of Modern Man too much.

Today is gonna fucking choke on giant elephant cocks, I can tell.

    im proud of all these guys for putting montreal on the fucking map. theres a thriving community out there, and FOR YEARS, record companies have been trying to bridge the gap between rap and metal, with soooo many failed projects, or just generally shit music.

    but now this comes out from some dudes that are clearly very confident in the music they are making.

    and its not hard to make i understand what you are saying.
    but neither is rap. in rap, they steal a sample, and loop it.
    well, in RAPCORE, or dubstepcore, whatever the fuck this is, all you need is some good gear, and some barely talented musicians, and guess what, you get the SAME FUCKIGN RESULT

      Skip the Forplay is unfortunately not.  Not going to argue you liking them, just letting you know they’re not good or original.  You might also like Bring Me the Horizon and Attack Attack.  Not knocking character, just making suggestions.

      As for putting Montreal on the map, I’ll leave that to other noteable metal bands like: Voivod, Martyr, Gorguts, Unexpect, KENMode, Cryptopsy, and would even go as far as to credit Blackguard.  sorry breh

      Townsend’s mullet is right, this is a misrepresentation of a very strong metal community in Montreal. This band, or whatever they are, managed to get “one of the guys that wears basketball jerseys” from despised icon to yell on their shitty track. That’s the only thing they’ve accomplished worth noting.
