YOUR FIRST TASTE OF TESSERACT’S NEW VOCALIST ELLIOT COLEMAN

Things are moving incredibly fast for TesseracT right now: rumors started to circulate that they had a new vocalist on August 22nd, and now just a little over two weeks later they’ve already released a pre-production track with said new vocalist, ex-Sky Eats Airplane singer Elliot Coleman. The track is brand new and serves as the background music for a U.K. tour trailer the band’s label, Century Media, posted on YouTube. Check it out:

The same, but different… Coleman’s voice isn’t markedly different than his predecessor Dan Tompkins’, but it’s different enough to stand out. In other words, Coleman’s addition to the band shouldn’t mean TesseracT’s music will change much, but he definitely adds his own character.

     awe man am I torn apart right now… I love Elliot’s voice, but I love Dan’s just as much… Both are so good. He definitely adds his own unique flavor to the band with those crazy falsettos. Can’t wait to hear more!

      I fucking love the fact that he reminds me of them, while I liked Dan, Elliot sounds more human, and I love his range and use of voice.  Count me in for new Tesseract.

      yeah I dont see the big appeal on this guy, he sounds way too dramatic with his vocals.  For some reason he also reminds me of Jared Leto, no not Panic Room Leto, 30 Mars Leto

      Yeah, I have to strongly disagree with Vince. For one, I don’t see how Coleman will do ANY just to the songs the band already has. His voice is very different…higher, and more feminine.  Personally, I am not a fan.

    Hate to say it but I’m not a big fan of this. I’m a Sky Eats Airplane fan too, just not digging the way he’s sounding with these guys, especially compared to Dan

    He’s great, love the androgynous style.

    i loved this bands music when i first heard it, and the vocals were the only thing that i’d had a hard time getting used to.  i think elliot coleman’s voice has me completely sold on this band.  not hating, just stating.

    Uccck.  These guys couldn’t have looked just a little longer for a vocalist who actually fit instead of one who just happened to be available?  

    Besides completely lacking any fire whatsoever, this guy’s voice grating, nasally voice sounds like it was rejected from the Mars Volta.  I was really excited to see these guys this fall, but I just can’t get excited about having to plug my ears every time this dude shriek some goofy, completely out of key falsetto wail.  Really bummed

    Fair enough sounds like a cheap Jeff Buckley!! KInd of lost interest in Tesseract when the album dropped as that was personally as massive disappointment. Very sad to see a promising band fall on there ass. Bring back fell silent!!

    He doesn’t know when to hold back. It’s like every parody you’ve ever seen of someone singing the national anthem.

    One day a djent band is going to come out of no where with a decent singer and take the limelight… everyone here will finally turn and consider tesseract and periphery  ”good” and “original” even though they suck. Watch, i’m predicting it now.

    Does anyone else think he sounds like the singer from Muse? I mean, from a purely technical standpoint, Elliot is a good singer…but he DOES NOT fit for Tesseract. Especially compared to Dan. Man this is disappointing. I was so eager to hear new material. I loved their album, though it was really just a bunch of songs they had already written that they stuck together. But I was so excited for new shit with Dan…but now this…fuck.

    Just seen Tesseract with their new singer tonight in London…..the band were EPIC, the singer..sorry but he sucked big time :( really miss Dans voice.
