FAITH NO MORE TO BE JOINED BY TREY SPRUANCE FOR COMPLETE KING FOR A DAY IN CHILE

I’m not saying that MetalSucks’ boner-bursting August series 31 Days Of Faith No More featuring Anso DF set in motion events leading to an amazing first-ever Faith No More show with one-time FNM studio guitarist Trey Spruance this November, but um okay I don’t know how to end that sentence. Cuz that’s exactly what I’m implying: We made this happen. So you’re welcome. Keyboardist Roddy Bottum wrote on the internet Wednesday night:

FNM show in Santiago, Chile in Nov will be King For A Day, Fool For  A Lifetime in its entirety with the original lineup from that record. Trey Spruance on guitar!

Which was confirmed a few minutes later by bassist Billy Gould:
Santiago, Chile: King for a Day from front to back with original guitarist Trey Spruance!! Told you it would be something different…!

It’s butt-nutz that Spruance (Secret Chiefs 3, Mr. Bungle) will learn the songs, commute from his mountain-top California lair, and take the stage with FNM singer Mike Patton, his ex-bandmate in Mr. Bungle. It’s dick-nutz that Bottum — whose role in the creation of K4AD was lesser than previous albums — sounds convincingly excited about it. (Check out the exclamation point; you can’t fake that.) It’s fuck-nutz that current guitarist Jon Hudson will be John Bushed right off the stage so a Spruance-powered FNM can whale on seldom-/never-played jamz like “Ugly In The Morning” and “The Last To Know.” It’s vag-nutz that no one has informed Faith No More that Santiago is a prehistoric lawless zone that teems with roving gangs of face-rapists whose open sores ooze a Contagion-esque strain of boner-herpes. Srs I read it in a book. So jeez the show better be moved to L.A. for the band’s safety. Just excuse the fucking shit out of me for caring.

    FUUUCK. I never in a million years would have seen Spruance going for this. 

    Definitely bodes well for a Mr Bungle reunion if it’s true.

      Agreed, I always figured the animosity was between Patton and Spruance.  Money talks, but in this case I don’t care!

    I’m from Chile. Last time they played here it was fucking unbelievable. To say that They love playing Chile more than most places would not be an exaggeration. I hope they play this set in the States, as for me, I already got the tickets.

    That sounds just like Mike and Trey. They hate America. Have you seen their concert schedules for the past couple of years? Either America hates them, or they hate America, or it’s mutual. It’s COMPLETELY vag-nutz, and the SC3 fanboys just tell me I’m complaining..
