Josh Scogin - The Chariot

In case your fall wasn’t already action-packed with awesome tours, The Chariot have announced a U.S. headlining run, which will start in November. Support will come from Vanna, The Crimson Armada, Former Thieves, and Listener, four bands I can’t really say anything about. Saw them perform with Gojira and [car_bomb]. It was pretty intense. But what the fuck has [car_bomb] been up to?

  • BC

I want to see this tour sooooo bad. With Listener in tow they might actually play David De La Hoz live seeing he was the guest vocalist on the track and last time they played The Wreck Room in toronto with Every Time I Die it was magical.

    • Dee

Couldn’t agree more. If only they took those barriers down during the chariots set and not just etids

    • Doomed do Better

Say them with Listener (and playing DdlH indeed) in Holland earlier this year, really good, especially Dan Smith’s feet first crowd-bombing after the song :-)

Never understood the hype behind them, I give them a chance every now and then and can’t get into it. Can anybody suggest some good songs?

    • andy

The entire “Long Live” album is trashy, silly, fun hardcore you’ll love that’s reminiscent of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Converge having a beautiful baby. But it’s not only the music you’ll want to hear, it’s the live performance you want to be there for.

Ok, thanks guys I appreciate it.

They are one of those love em or hate em bands. If they never made the cut for you before then there is probably no changing that but I think avery fan of the chariot will agree that David Lee Hotz is probably one of there best songs. its pretty quirky though so be prepared

  • TheSkunkCatcher

I’m really glad to see bands like Former Thieves and Listener getting on bigger tours like this.

  • Igottawocket

Holy hell do the Chariot suck. I too saw them with Gojira, painful.

  • Nowak

I saw The Chariot once on the Sounds of the Underground tour at a stop in the DC area. They were a bummer. All noise with no discernible song structure, and Josh Scogin did a lot of laying down on his back and shrieking; they were not having a good time performing. Maybe it was an off day, and they’re usually better… I don’t know. But Behemoth played next, and those dudes showed how it was done. They put on a fucking SHOW, and it didn’t matter that it was 3 in the afternoon and 100 degrees.

  • Chris

No, Nowak they never get better because they lick more testicles then all of the jonas brothers together.  I have never seen a more disgraceful band share the stage with Gojira, frankly it was sad that they were even allowed to play alongside metal gods.

  • Eric

They might be an entertaining band to watch but not to listen to. Saw them at Haste The Day’s farewell show this spring and the bass player spent more time throwing his instrument 12 feet into the air than actually playing it.

  • Matthew

I saw them this year with everytime I die and they were energetic jumping around etc. BUT they are fucking awful so no don’t go see the chariot, don’t see the chariot.

  • Pacthomas

The Chariot are just fucking terrible live and on recording. If you wanna see this style done right just save your money for The Dillinger Escape Plan.

  • emetal

they’re so good, you should probably try and rip them off for your own personal benefit and fail

  • MItch K.

the chariot rolled through my town last year on a tour with cancer bats and they put on one HELL of a show. holy shit. fucking crazy. highly recommend seeing them.

I’m utterly surprised that any writer of this website has good things to say about the chariot.. thats pretty cool

Has anyone seen the vocalist for The Crimson Armada?

  • Deucemon

Just saw these guys, and i cant recommend them enough. Was not expecting the craziness.

  • http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com Disinformasiya

Listener’s vocalist is the guy who did that spoken word section in “David De La Hoz” from Long Live. Should be awesome; super jelly of you ‘Merican types.

  • Vilos

    was this post a joke?

  • Doomed do Better

Stop reading and go see The Chariot indeed, forget band with intense live shows and giving their all, just go see The Chariot, then have a beer, then see The Chariot again and then go home, sleep and go see The Chariot the next day again, then shut up, have another beer and then go to work.
