FAR’S JONAH MATRANGA PERFORMS ACOUSTIC COVER OF DEFTONES “BE QUIET AND DRIVE”

0

The history of Jonah Matranga (Far) and fellow Sacramentoers (Sacramentans?) Deftones are inextricably linked. If you’re not hip to Far, I highly recommend a visit to YouTube with a couple of beers at the ready, or, for the cool kids amongst you, jam the entirety of their incredible 1996 album Tin Cans With Strings To You on Spotify.

Matranga has covered Deftones’ “Be Quiet and Drive” a number of times over the years (he guested on a recorded acoustic B-side of the song), but I’ve never seen a live rendition as intense as this one. It starts all mellow and modern-day Jonah Matranga-like, but builds into a raging crescendo that would make Chino himself proud. Watch, via The PRP:
