UP THE IRONS FOR FOOTAGE FROM IRON MAIDEN’S NEW LIVE DVD EN VIVO

0

Iron Maiden are one of the best live bands on the planet; if you haven’t seen them, you just don’t understand. But for all the times I’ve seen Maiden (5? 8? not really sure) I’ve never seen them in South or Central America, which I feel like is the ultimate Iron Maiden live experience. Just look at ALL THOSE SCREAMING FANS! The atmosphere in Santiago, Chile on April 10th, 2011 — when this clip was filmed — must’ve been absolutely electric, so much so that I’m getting chills just watching it.

Here’s Maiden’s latter-day classic “Wicker Man” from that performance, captured for posterity on the En Vivo DVD/Blu-Ray, which came out yesterday (order here). Bruce Dickinson does at least three wide-kick monitor jumps, Janick Gers’ arms are aflyin’, you can hear the audience’s collective Spanish accent in the singalong choruses (“Your time will cooooooome!”) and hey, did you know Nicko McBrain plays with bare feet?
