MATT HALPERN HAD A DRUM PARTY IN THE STREETS OF SXSW

Oh come on, you didn’t take our list of the Top 25 Modern Metal Drummers too seriously, did you? Our site is called “Metal Sucks” fer chrissakes. A dozen other drummers were equally as deserving as those who did make the cut. IMNs gonna rage, though, nothing we can do about that. And honestly, it’s just so much fun to watch you guys get stangry over everything; how can we resist?

One such drummer is Periphery’s Matt Halpern, a drum stud amongst drum studs. Matt decided to set up his kit in the middle of E. 6th St. at SXSW in Austin, TX a couple weeks back and just started playing… and within seconds he’s surrounded by a grooving, gyrating, pulsating PARTY of people. This is a really great depiction of the insanity that goes on at SXSW; it’s absolutely bonkers. Matt kills it in this clip — watch:
